This is a report on the C-E translation practice of the third season of the documentary Every Treasure Tells A Story. In this documentary,an introduction is given on 25 cultural relics from the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties. This translation practice is carried out under the guidance of Professor Li Changshuan’s principle of "Comprehension,Expression,Adaption".An analysis is made on the problems of "comprehension","expression" and "adaptation" encountered in the process of translation. Some solutions are provided. The main difficulty met in the comprehension is caused by some unfamiliar words and phrases. These problems are solved through analyzing the context and consulting the relevant resources. The problems encountered in the expression are the large number of verbs, the translationese and ambiguities. The translation is analyzed from four aspects, such as conversion, the transformation of sentence structure and explanation. On the level of adaptation, the problem is that some information in the source text is redundant or too little, which should be solved by using such translation methods as amplification and omission.
