The Research On The CPC’s Public Mobilization In The East Zhejiang Province(1941-1945)

East Zhejiang province is located to the east of Qiantang River,in the economic triangle of Shanghai,Hangzhou and Ningbo,with an outstanding strategic location.After the outbreak of the Battle of Ningbo and Shaoxing,the Communist Party of China sent its armed forces to the Sanbei area to establish an anti-Japanese base in eastern Zhejiang province.Due to the constraints of multiple forces,weak strength,and poor mass foundation,it was the biggest challenge for the CPC to gain a firm foothold in this area.The people are the basis for the survival and development of an Anti-Japanese Base Area.As the latest base area established by the CPC,the East Zhejiang AntiJapanese Base Area had a localized adjustment to the CPC’s relatively mature policy of public mobilization.Since the CPC arrived in Sanbei area,local cadres and cadres who came from north Jiangsu province and east Shanghai cooperated with each other and they had a clear division of labor.Based on the "gray concealment" policy,the CPC used to mobilize people point-to-point through the rural social network.In addition,the "white-skinned and red-hearted" local progressive gentry also played an important role for the CPC to enter the countryside.In order to broaden the scope of mobilization,the CPC penetrated gradually into the daily life of the rural society in east Zhejiang province through the primary school and the "de-du opera",which played as mobilization media in east Zhejiang province.The people gradually became politically inclined.In order to achieve a deeper level of mobilization of the people,the CPC broke through the dilemma of Zhejiang Province’s previous rent reduction in the repeated games with the people and landlords,and put the nationalist sentiment in the period to satisfy the material and spiritual needs of the people,achieving the effect of mobilization.In this process,the change of status from civilians to militia is a shift in public sentiment towards the CPC.During the four years in east Zhejiang province,from the 800 east Shanghai armed forces that arrived in Sanbei area to the more than 15,000 soldiers of East Zhejiang province when they retreated to the north,the CPC reached the maximum public mobilization under the conditions at the time.It also laid the people’s foundation for the rapid liberation of East Zhejiang province in the War of Liberation.
