The Study Of Jin Shengtan’s Theories Of Novel Creation

The Ming and Qing Dynasties are the prosperous period of ancient Chinese novels theory,and the contribution of Jin Shengtan is particularly outstanding among the critics of novels theory.He derives the nutrition from the theories of various artistic class,such as Chinese classical poetry,prose,architecture,calligraphy and painting,combines with the characteristics of the novel style to endow them with new connotations,reveals the essential regularity of the novel style and constructs a relatively complete novel creation theoretical system.This thesis mainly takes Jin Shengtan’s comments on the Shuihu Chuan as the object of research,takes the theory of "the three realms" as the center of research and tries to do some in-depth studies on Jin Shengtan’s novel creation theories.The dissertation is divided into three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction mainly comments on the researchful status of Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation,expounds the conception and researchful methods of the topic selection.The main body of the paper is from chapter 2 to 6.The second chapter is the background research of Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation,trying to put Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation in the historical macro coordinate system to reflect the integrity and objectivity of the research.The third to the sixth chapters mainly take "the three realms" as logic center and its spread,relate these theories,such as "doing it with your mind","ge wu","writing articles is difficult","technique criticism",to carry on the thorough research of Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation,and finally summarize characteristics and values of Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation on the basis.The conclusion part firstly makes a brief summary of the content of the thesis,then further points out the great contribution and deficiency of Jin Shengtan’s theories of novel creation on this basis,and finally puts forward the view that we should learn his novel creation theories dialectically.
