With the acceleration of economic integration and information globalization, the demand for translation and interpreting is rapidly increasing both at home and abroad. And the number and quality of interpreters are supposed to be higher and higher. However,it is not enough to evaluate the quality of interpreting through pronunciation, intonation, fluency and other factors. So,there is necessity to do further research on the importance of interpreting process in interpreting practice, thus,to help interpreters improve their capabilities under the guidance of interpretive theories.Reinventing the world is a documentary series published by German television station in memory of the Reformation led by Martin Luther. It includes six episodes, wherein the first two episodes, with the total amount of 6,721 words, are selected as the source material of this practice. To guarantee the authenticity and objectivity of the interpreting practice, the place for interpreting is arranged, and participants are invited, including a host, who is responsible for manipulating the pause of the video, and four audiences as appraisers.Audience appraisal and self-proofreading are made after the consecutive interpreting.Under the guidance of the Triangle Model proposed in the Interpretive Theory, perception and comprehension of the source material are made, the interpreting process is reconstructed, and the sense behind the source language is re-expressed in target language. Then typical examples are analyzed from five aspects, including denotation, pragmatics, style, emotion and lexicon, and problems during interpreting are summarized with corresponding solutions.Through analysis,it is demonstrated that interpreting should be based on discourse, rather than words or sentences. The most important step is de-verbalization,which believes that the sense behind language is the focus of interpreting. In other words,to achieve the equivalence in communication, more attention should be paid to the process of interpreting instead of putting the expression effect as the assessment standard only.Figure 2;Table 3;Reference 30... |
