A Study On The Narrative Structure Of Wang Anyi’s Novels In The 1990s

A comprehensive survey of Wang Anyi’s overall creation shows that after entering the new century,wang Anyi published a full-length novel almost every two years,and interspersed with novelettes and short stories.It can be said that at this time,Wang Anyi seemed to grasp the essence of some writing,so that her creation reached a relatively stable rhythm.The transformation and theoretical exploration of Wang Anyi’s novel creation mainly took place in the 1990s,which is of great significance in Wang Anyi’s overall creation.Therefore,we have reason to ask:what is the internal relationship between Wang Anyi’s creation in the new century and her exploration in the 1990s?Does this internal connection constitute the key factor for her high production in the new century?Is mastery of the novel’s "technique" really enough to keep a writer alive?If not,what is the "tao"（including the writer’s writing stance,ideology,social mechanism,etc.）that runs through this"technique"?Starting from the above problems,this paper tries to take narrative structure as a starting point to deeply analyze the expression form of"double line contrast" structure in Wang Anyi’s novels in the 1990s and its deep meaning behind it.Firstly,the introduction of the thesis combines the eastern and western narrative theories to define the connotation and extension of "structure":"structure" is not only the "appearance" of the novel,but also has a profound relationship with the writer’s subconscious thoughts,social politics and even the national collective unconscious."Structure" is not static,it is in the process of dynamic development,each narrative structure needs to be explained in the context of literary history,but also needs to obtain new life in different times context.On this basis,it points out the concrete meaning of the structure of "double line contrast",that is,there are always two opposing or complementary forces entangle each other in wang Anyi’s novel world,which either confront,cross or split,and become a method to structure the relationship between characters,promote the plot,and create time and space.The first chapter analyzes the surface form of the"double line contrast" structure in the novel,including the development mode of character relations,the internal motive force of plot development,and the creation of time and space.Through the analysis of the first chapter,the paper concluded that in the 90 s cacophony in the context of history,whether it’s metaphysical portrayal of the urban subject matter,and daily secular life to citizens but bottom,should be in wang anyi’s novels in the persistent pursuit of some essential ethos,the truthful,constancy,and put them as a redeeming power,To counter the of the Republic" and "writer" in Wang Anyi,and constitutes the inner tension of Wang Anyi’s novels.The third chapter analyzes the significance and value of the "double line contrast" narrative structure in Wang Anyi’s overall creation,and discusses the secret connection and difference of this structure in different historical contexts.Is Wang anyi’s "dual control" structure in the creative practice gradually formed a narrative form,it is Wang anyi’s response to the reality concern,stick to "pick up sea people" writing position to maintain complete individual spirit embodied in the creation,is also Wang anyi in reality on the basis of constructing a "mind world" beyond the reality.However,due to the structure itself has a certain closure and internal contradiction,it makes some and complexity brought by this dual perspective to the text is one of the reasons why another kind of Wang Anyi’s creation（mainly referring to the novels about citizens）has gained rich interpretation space.It can be said that the structure of"double contrast" is one of the ways Wang Anyi looks at the world,which is also the uniqueness and value of his novel creation.In general,after the arduous exploration in the early 1990s,Wang Anyi waded out a spiritual path to settle the individual soul in the world of novels,that is,to firmly pursue some unchangeable ultimate value to maintain the authenticity and integrity of the individual.In her creation,such independence and value orientation not only allowed her to escape from the noisy discourse trap of the 1990s,but also made her unconsciously fall into the limits of some mainstream discourse while trying to give a solution!This is perhaps one of the paradoxes that Wang Anyi cannot get rid of in her creation.Anyway,Wang anyi has always kept in the novel to seek a utopian world of the lofty ideal human nature,and constantly trying to interpreted on individuals and even the nature of human existence,it is thanks to this daunting,and exciting challenges at the same time,her works to become one of the most dynamic business.
