Chinese characters are ancient,self-sourced characters,occupying a unique position in the world language and writing,and also occupying an important position in international Chinese language education.However,the teaching of Chinese characters in international Chinese language education is currently facing many problems,such as insufficient understanding of the characteristics of Chinese characters,imperfect construction of Chinese character courses,unsystematic teaching methods of Chinese characters,the puzzle of "Chinese characters are difficult" has not been solved properly and so on.Chinese characters have three elements: form,sound,and meaning,the most distinctive feature of Chinese characters is form.Therefore,studying Chinese characters and exploring the Chinese teaching rules and methods based on the form is an effective way to solve these problems.In the aspect of research on the form of Chinese characters,the formation theory of Chinese characters takes "form" as the noumenon of Chinese characters,mainly studies the formation of Chinese characters and the rules contained in the Chinese character system,which is a great progress in the study of modern Chinese characters and also provides useful enlightenments for solving the problems related to Chinese characters.This thesis is mainly based on Wang Ning’s formation theory of Chinese characters,and follows its basic ideas of form-based and form system,combines with character-based theory and Chinese thought and culture,we recognized Chinese characters again.We found that "form" is not only the main feature of Chinese characters,but also an important feature of the entire Chinese culture.Chinese culture presents a form of form culture based on form categories,Chinese characters are a part of Chinese form culture;the form of Chinese characters is a form,a character symbol and a category of cognition of the world and things,it also has non-linguistic meaning except for linguistic meaning,including cognition,way of thinking and so on.Chinese characters are a form system,the generalized form system includes the form of character and the form of font.The form of character mainly refers to itself,but the form of font also involves the writing tools,font styles and artistic expressions;the culture of Chinese characters is also a generalized system,in addition to the origin and development of Chinese characters,the history culture of Chinese characters,and the writing culture of Chinese characters,it also includes the thoughts of Chinese characters,literature and art of Chinese characters,folk culture of Chinese characters and so on.Based on these re-recognitions of Chinese characters,this thesis mainly proposes four reference strategies for teaching of Chinese characters in international Chinese language education.Firstly,positioning the teaching of Chinese characters accurately and establishing the real ontological and objective status of it.Secondly,learning from form-based ideas to teach Chinese characters.Thirdly,starting from generalized cultural system to teach Chinese characters culture.Fourthly,strengthening the teaching of Chinese characters from curriculum construction.
