The Chinese compound directional complement "get up" is a complement that is frequently used in Chinese,and its usage and semantics are complicated.As the author is a Thai international student,I sometime confused about using of the extended meaning of "get up" and often making a mistake when I use it.Therefore,this paper selects Thai intermediate and advanced Chinese learners on the acquisition of the extended meaning of compound directional complement "get up" as the research object,and research on the bias analysis theory,combined with comparative analysis.By adopting the method of combining the corpus and questionnaire for study and analysis using "get up" of Thai intermediate and advanced Chinese learners,and summary Thai learners using "get up" about type of errors and causes.Hoping to put forward effective teaching suggestions for the teaching of the compound directional complement " get up" for intermediate and advanced Chinese learners in Thailand.The main research is summarized into five parts:The first part,the source of the research topic,the research purpose,significance,methods and corpus,moreover compares the relevant literature on the "get up" to provide a reference for the research.In the second part,based on the overview of the previous studies,we examine and compare the derivation of the word with its Thai counterpart,in order to identify the types of errors and the causes of the errors.The third part examines the acquisition of the derivation of the word "get up" by Thai intermediate and advanced Chinese learners from the corpus and questionnaires,after that summarizes collected corpus and analysis.The fourth part is to summarize the semantic and grammatical structure errors of Thai intermediate and advanced Chinese learners on acquiring the extended meaning of the compound directional complement "get up" based on the statistical analysis of the collected corpus.The fifth part analyzes the causes of the errors and proposes corresponding teaching suggestions according to the causes of the errors.It is expected that it will help Thai intermediate and advanced learners to learn the extended meaning of the compound directional complement "get up" better.
