Preliminary Study On Shouzhou Kiln Porcelain

Shouzhou kiln is a famous porcelain kiln in the Tang Dynasty.It was first burned in the late Southern Dynasty,flourished in the Tang Dynasty and declined in the late Tang Dynasty.It is famous for its unique yellow glaze products.In the 1950 s and 1960 s,after the archaeological work of Shouzhou kiln began,a considerable number of Shouzhou kiln porcelain were identified all over the country.However,these materials are scattered and need to be fully collected and sorted.This article takes Shouzhou kiln porcelain as the research object,carries on the staging and the research to it,attempts to comb out its type and the staging situation.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the archaeological discovery and research summary of Shouzhou kiln porcelain,combs the archaeological investigation and excavation of Shouzhou kiln site and the excavation of Shouzhou kiln porcelain such as tombs and sites outside the kiln site,and reviews the research history of Shouzhou kiln porcelain in the academic circles.The second chapter is the study of archaeological discoveries and the types of Shouzhou kiln porcelain collected by the museum.Shouzhou kiln porcelain mainly includes three varieties: green glaze,yellow glaze and black glaze.Different glaze varieties have roughly the same era commonality in the types of utensils.These types mainly include pots,bottles,cans,pillows,lamps,bowls,lamps and bowls.This chapter makes a detailed typological analysis of these types.The third chapter is the grouping and age of Shouzhou kiln artifacts.According to the common characteristics of the utensils in glaze color,shape and decoration,they are divided into three groups.Combined with the comparative materials such as chronological tombs,the three groups of Shouzhou kiln porcelain are divided into three periods.The ages of each period correspond to the Sui to the early Tang Dynasty,the prosperous Tang to the middle Tang Dynasty and the late Tang Dynasty.The fourth chapter is the research on related problems.The first part briefly analyzes the manufacturing process and firing process of Shouzhou kiln.The molding process of Shouzhou kiln porcelain is mainly made by wheel and hand,and the decoration methods are divided into tire decoration and glaze decoration.Shouzhou kiln is a common steamed bread kiln in northern China.Saggers and supporting nails are the most common kiln utensils.In addition,there are trumpet shaped supports and kiln rods.According to the distribution of Shouzhou kiln porcelain,the second part briefly outlines two circulation routes for Shouzhou kiln products to be transported to the southeast to Jiangsu and sold to the north to the east of Henan.
