A Report On C-E Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Of 2021 Xiaomi Launch From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

Technology is developing at a rapid pace.The communication between countries about technology is also increasing.The material selected for this report is the new product launch of Xiaomi in 2021.It has highly professional content and unique language style.The guiding theory is the Interpretation Theory.The Interpretive Theory holds that interpreters should translate the meaning of language rather than the language itself.The purpose of this report is to demonstrate how the interpreter completed this simulated consecutive interpreting under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory.This simulation interpretation report consists of four main sections of work: case analysis,pre-interpreting preparation,duringinterpreting,and post-interpreting.The interpreter conducted the simulated interpretation practice under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,and discussed the difficulties and doubts that arose in the process of practice in terms of strategies,techniques and the guiding role played by the Interpretive Theory.In the pre-interpreting stage,the interpreter familiarized herself with the speaker’s style,the launch process and related vocabulary in advance.The during-interpreting stage focused on how the interpreter designed and executed the simulated interpretation,and described in detail the process and composition of the audience group.The post-interpreting stage described the reflection and summarizing work after the completion of the simulated interpretation.Finally,the interpreter reflected on the reasons for the errors during the interpretation and made a conclusion.The interpreter hopes that this paper can provide significance to future scientific and technical interpretation at lexical,syntactic and stylistic level.
