With the development of social productivity and the widespread use of new media technologies,traditional ways of communicating information have been greatly impacted,and brand visual identity systems need more flexible and varied designs to support their construction.The brand visual identity system is an important part of the brand and an important way for the audience to perceive the brand.By analysing the design principles and methods of the multiform logo in the construction of the brand visual identity system,it helps to further demonstrate its significance to the brand construction.As the core of the brand visual image system and an important part of the graphic design field,the logo,along with the progress and development of the times,has shown a wide design space.The traditional logo design style is constantly renewed,gradually changing to a diversified,dynamic and multi-dimensional direction,presenting a modern situation of intermingled design and diverse style development.It expands the fixed thinking and methods of traditional logo design,and provides a way of survival for the brand visual image system to adapt to the ever-changing modern society with its flexibility and sustainability.The genetic and variation principles of brand gene theory can guide the design of polymorphic logos.The genetic principle keeps the logo consistent,while the variation principle encourages the logo to grow and expand in response to changes in the environment.By using the general principles of brand gene theory as a theoretical guide for polymorphic logo design,designers can provide new design ideas and directions for logo design.This study aims to summarise the design principles and design methods of polymorphic logos for the purpose of brand image system construction,combined with the analysis of polymorphic logo cases,using research methods such as observation,case study and comparative research,to guide design practice.The research firstly collates and analyses the current domestic and international literature and combines it with relevant theories to provide a theoretical basis for the necessity of multiform logos in the construction of brand visual image systems.Secondly,the feasibility of multi-form logos in the construction of brand visual identity systems is studied,including the current development of brand visual identity systems,the limitations of traditional logos,the necessity of multi-form logos and their advantages in the construction of brand visual identity systems.Finally,from the perspective of design practice,the design methods and design principles of polymorphic logos under the guidance of brand genetic theory are studied,and excellent design cases at home and abroad are combined to further elaborate the practical design methods of polymorphic logos,so as to solve the limitations faced by the development of logos,and to seek new ways for the future development of polymorphic logo design based on the construction of brand visual image system with different design thinking.The design approach will be used to find a new way out for the future development of multiform logo design based on the construction of brand visual identity system.
