The Research On Vocabulary Of The Modern Historical Notes ——Take The Compound Words As The Research Object

Notes are an important literary genre in ancient China.They are mostly about the personal experiences of the authors and have high historical and linguistic value.The article takes some of the historical notes in the Modern Historical Notes Series published by the China Book Bureau in 2007 as the object of study,and uses a combination of exhaustive investigation and objective description,and a combination of common time analysis and ephemeral comparison to study the words in the modern historical notes,supplemented by methods such as the combination of different texts for meaning and the combination of language and social culture,to study the modern historical notes from three aspects: word form,word meaning and dictionary compilation.The notes are studied from multiple perspectives.From the perspective of word forms,homographs and heterographs are two special lexical phenomena in the language,and the presence of homographs and heterographs in modern historical notes is prominent,with different frequencies and status,showing a division between primary and secondary,reflecting the principle of linguistic economy.The fact that a large number of new and foreign words emerged in the process of cultural and linguistic contact is inseparable from the specific social environment of the late Qing dynasty,and the examination of synonymous compound words is helpful for exegetical interpretation.The study of word forms,word meanings and dictionary compilations in modern historical notes not only fills in the gaps in the lexical landscape of the Chinese language in the specific context of the late Qing and early Ming dynasties,but also compares and analyses the entries in the notes with the Dictionary of Modern Chinese（7th edition）and uses the Dictionary of Chinese as the main reference,and adds reliable examples of missing words and missing meanings to large language dictionaries.The dictionary will also be used to add missing words,missing meanings and reliable examples.The lexical study of modern historical notes is therefore of great academic value.
