| As a novel,Xing Shi Xin Bian is written in understandable vernacular language in the late Qing Dynasty.This thesis takes the psychological verbs in this novel as the research object,mainly from the semantic and grammatical aspects of the psychological verbs to carry out a comprehensive examination,which intends to find the characteristics of the mental verbs in the late Qing Dynasty.The thesis contains five parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the corpus source and previous research of Xing Shi Xin Bian.The overview of mental verbs,the reason for the topic selection,and the research method are also introduced in the thesis.The second part is Chapter One,which mainly explains the extraction principle and classification of mental verbs in Xing Shi Xin Bian.For the definition of mental verbs,the academic circle has not formed a formal standard.Based on this situation,this thesis argues that it should judge and recognize mental verbs from the perspective of semantics.The mental verb has the semantic characteristics of [+ person],[+ brain organ],[+ mental activity].Following the principle of sememe and the knowledge of psychology,169 mental verbs are selected from Xing Shi Xin Bian.According to the development of human psychology,169 mental verbs are divided into cognitive,emotional,and volitional categories.The third part contains Chapter Two,Chapter Three,and Chapter Four,which are the main body of the thesis.In Chapter Two,62 cognitive mental verbs are divided into three categories: perception,memory,and thinking according to different stages of mental cognitive activities.Then,by summing up the common sememe,the three categories of mental verbs are divided into 10 subcategories,and the semantic and grammatical characteristics of each subcategory are analyzed in detail.In Chapter Three,91 emotional mental verbs are divided into two categories: positive emotional category and negative emotional category.The former is divided into seven subcategories and the latter is divided into eight subcategories according to the sememe principle,which intends to analyze the semantic and grammatical characteristics of each subcategory.Chapter Four divides 16 volitional mental verbs into two categories: doubtful category and intentional category,and makes a specific analysis of the semantic and grammatical characteristics of each subcategory.The fourth part is Chapter Five,which is the synchronic and diachronic comparative study of mental verbs in Xing Shi Xin Bian.Based on previous research results,this thesis makes a synchronic and diachronic comparison between Xing Shi Xin Bian,Dun Huang Bian Wen,and Xing Shi Yan,which intends to explore the characteristics of mental verbs in synchronic and diachronic aspects.The fifth part is the conclusion.The thesis concludes that there are various types of psychological verbs in Xing Shi Xin Bian,and some of them are hierarchical.In terms of syllables,polysyllabic words are dominant,and the proportion of four-syllable mental verbs increased significantly.In grammar,grammar has a single function.The main function of grammar is the predicate,and only a few can be used as the complement. |
