In recent years,some short video vloggers introducing Chinese culture have gone viral on social platforms domestically and abroad.Li Ziqi is one of the most representative figures.The idyllic pastoral life and profound traditional Chinese culture in her videos have attracted fans from poles to poles.Her videos have become a window for foreign audiences to understand Chinese culture.Meanwhile,international Chinese culture teaching has a big influence on cultural exchange and dissemination.Applying Li Ziqi’s video to international Chinese culture teaching would be an effective way to use the high-quality resource.The communication and dissemination of culture requires a certain carrier,which is the "symbol" in the theory of semiotics.This article aims to analyze the cultural symbols in Li Ziqi’s videos by using Pierce’s semiotic theory.Guided by the theory,combined with Li Ziqi’s video,I will design cultural teaching plans to explore the effect of her videos on international Chinese cultural teaching.Moreover I also hope I can summarize the general principles of using such short videos to assist the international Chinese culture teaching.The research findings are that: 1.Pierce’s semiotic theory is helpful to analyze the cultural symbols in Li Ziqi’s videos,and it has certain guiding significance for the selection and use of international Chinese cultural teaching resources.The cultural teaching plan designed according to Peirce’s semiotics can turn fiction into reality and make cultural teaching more concrete.2.Under the guidance of semiotic theory,Li Ziqi’s videos can assist the teaching of international Chinese culture,and these videos have certain practical value.3.There are certain principles and methods for using short videos to assist international Chinese cultural teaching,which can help teachers to carry out cultural teaching in a better way.In the context of Chinese cultural exchange and dissemination in the new era,international Chinese cultural teaching should also advance closely with time and conform to the tendency of the day.This article aims to explore the application of such short videos in the teaching of international Chinese culture through the examples of Li Ziqi’s video and make a small contribution to the development of international Chinese culture teaching.
