| Imperative sentence is an important category in the Chinese sentence class system,which has unique expression form and abundant pragmatic functions.For many years,the academic circle has not interrupted the study of it.The Wizard of Oz is a long chapter novel written in the middle of Qing dynasty.The book contains a large number of dialogues with characters,and the imperative sentences used are diverse in form,flexible in syntax and rich in function,which is an important corpus for the study of imperative sentences in modern Chinese.This paper takes the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz as the research object and makes a specific investigation from three aspects of the category,syntax and function of the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz,consisting of introduction,conclusion and three chapters of the category of the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz,the syntax of the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz and the function of the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz:The introduction mainly introduces the background of the topic and the research status of imperative sentences and the Wizard of Oz,establishes the research object and significance,and explains the research methods and research corpus.Chapter one investigates the categories of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz.According to whether there are signs or not,the imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz are divided into three categories: single sign imperative,co-sign imperative and unmarked imperative,and the characteristic of each imperative is described in detail.Chapter two analyzes the sentence structure and syntactic components of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz.Except for one sentence,there are three kinds of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz: SVO,SV and VO.The subject,predicate and object of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz have obvious characteristics.Chapter three discusses the function of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz.The functions of imperative sentences in the Wizard of Oz mainly include command and prohibition,advice and admonition,request,begging and enunciation.The conclusion part summarizes the main content and viewpoint of this paper. |
