History,current Situation And Dilemma Of Portugal’s Radical Left Politics ——Take The Portuguese Communist Party And Bloco De Esquerda As Examples

This article takes Bloco de Esquerda and the Portuguese Communist Party as research objects.It conducts a comprehensive study of the history,current situation,and dilemma of Portuguese radical left-wing politics through literature research,historical analysis and comparative research.This paper attempts to clarify the development context,organizational structure and theoretical propositions of Bloco de Esquerda and the Portuguese Communist Party,and specifically analyzes the similarities and differences between the two parties in theoretical strategy and practical activities,as well as the formation reasons,in order to explore the development dilemma of the Portuguese radical left-wing politics.This article holds that the huge differences in the development process are the main factors that cause Bloco de Esquerda and the Portuguese Communist Party to have very different theoretical policies and organizational methods.The Portuguese Communist Party has experienced cruel torture and oppression after nearly 50 years of secret activities.This historical period allowed the Portuguese Communist Party to maintain ideological coherence and unity,and formed strict organizational discipline,which avoided the Portuguese Communist Party’s turn to European Communism to the greatest extent.Bloco de Esquerda was established against the background of the general low of the traditional left wing in Portugal.It has the characteristics of diversity and tolerance.It strives to build specific policy propositions against real capitalism,and implements the pursuit of socialist goals into specific matters related to the immediate interests of the masses.The huge differences in the development process have made these two parties choose different socialist paths from the beginning.With a strict organizational structure and discipline,Portugal has always adhered to the tradition of Marxism-Leninism and dominated the traditional battlefield of the Communist Party-the workers’ movement.However,the Portuguese Communist Party also has the problems of lack of theoretical innovation,aging party members,and low motivation of party members.Bloco de Esquerda,which was born in the multi background,has a relatively loose structure mode.It has the characteristics of a new political party,which combines the workers’ movement with social movement and the environmental movement.But its social foundation is not stable and its policy proposition is not clear enough.At present,Bloco de Esquerda and the Portuguese Communist Party are standing in the radical left-wing politics of Portugal.The differences in theory and practice hinder the two parties from seeking common ground while reserving differences and launching cooperation.This is not only detrimental to the future development of the two parties,but also has a negative impact on the radical left and left-wing alliance.Bloco de Esquerda and the Portuguese Communist Party need to face the difficulties and problems of their own development.They also need to take the overall situation into consideration,break the deadlock between the two parties at an early date,and strive to form a joint force to exert greater cohesion and integration.
