Research On Indonesia’s Participation In The Supply Of Security Public Goods With ASEAN

Before the emergence of ASEAN,the demand for regional security in Southeast Asian was subject to the global hegemony system of the United States.The consumption of regional security products by these countries mainly came from the United States.With the gradual recovery of the Southeast Asian economy,the demand for safe public goods iwith Southeast Asian countries is also increasing.However,the global security public goods supply system dominated by American hegemony is increasingly showing"privatization" characteristics.Therefore,the regionalization of security public goods is imminent.The regionalization of security public goods in Southeast Asia not only comes from the lack of external supply,but also from the enhancement of the supply capacity and willingness of countries in the region.As the strength and security needs of Southeast Asian countries have increased,they have also begun to gradually explore the possibility of cooperating to provide regional public security products.ASEAN has emerged in this context.Compared with other suppliers in Southeast Asia,ASEAN has been quite effective in supplying regional security public products as a group of small countries.From the germination stage to the development stage and then to the maturity period,ASEAN has maintained peace and stability in Southeast Asia for a long time.As a leader within the small country group,Indonesia has played a unique role in each stage of ASEAN’s supply of regional public security products.From the initial founder to the internal promoter to the current leader,Indonesia has achieved the role of a national Change,the external manifestation of this role change in different periods is the change in Indonesia’s supply capacity and willingness,and the internal motivation is the change in Indonesia’s interests at the three levels of national,regional and international systems.This paper analyzes the multi-level influencing factors and interest concerns behind Indonesia’s role and behavior by combing Indonesia’s supply capacity and willingness to provide regional public security products in ASEAN in different periods,and further discusses Indonesia’s future integration in ASEAN integration and China’s "Belt and Road" construction And the role and role in the US-Indo-Pacific strategy.
