A Study On The Institutionalized Path Of Youth Political Participation

Youth political participation is the focus of research in the academic and public policy fields at home and abroad,but the existing literature focuses on the study of online youth political participation and non-institutionalized political participation.This paper takes the UK youth parliament as the research object,takes the youth political participation theory,the youth development theory and the empowerment theory as the theoretical basis,and uses the literature research method and the case analysis method to explore the institutionalized path of the youth political participation.This article through the analysis of the overall situation of the world youth parliament and the UK youth parliament to illustrate the typicality of taking the UK youth parliament as the research object,then it explores the operating mechanism,positive influences and shortcomings of the institutionalized path of youth political participation,and predicts the trend of the path and improves it,hoping to provide useful reference for Chinese youth political participation.Firstly,this paper from the development course,current situation and the cause of the rise of the world youth parliament pinpoint development situation of the UK youth parliament in the world youth parliament,then it from the origin and the establishment,the goal and the structure,members and management,major meetings and activities,etc of the UK youth parliament discusses the representativeness of the UK youth parliament in the world youth parliament,which explains the reason why this paper chooses the UK youth parliament as the research object.Secondly,this paper explores that the operation mechanism of the UK youth parliament includes the operation basis of democratic election,the operation management of standardization,the operation content of thematization and operation process dynamic empowerment,which lays a foundation for the following discussion on the influence and shortcomings of the UK youth parliament.Thirdly,on the basis of exploring the British youth parliament,this paper finds that the institutionalized path of youth political participation represented by the UK youth parliament can bring about empowering youth,improve the scientific level of youth policy,and promote the positive impact of positive interaction between youth and society.At the same time,it also has some problems,such as the limited or even unbalanced energy endowment of young individuals,the imbalance in the empowerment of youth groups,the fact that the organizational structure is not always based on the legal basis,the slow effective response of the organization,the shortage of organizational resources and the limited time schedule.Finally,this paper holds that the institutionalized path will increasingly become the general trend of the development of youth political participation in today’s world.Therefore,it is necessary to perfect the institutionalized path of youth political participation from three aspects according to the current state of the institutionalized path: playing the role of youth group representatives,improving the effectiveness of youth political participation,and enriching the power of youth network participation.The inspiration of this institutionalized path to China’s youth political participation is to strengthen the party’s political guidance to the youth,enhance the leading position and ability of the youth’s political participation,and promote the construction of the "semi-institutionalized" path.
