Research On China’s Public Diplomacy In Central Asia

Central Asia is adjacent to Xinjiang,China,and is the core area of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" initiative.Central Asian countries occupy a special and important position in China’s peripheral diplomacy.Central Asian countries and China share many common interests.China also pays more attention to the spread of Chinese culture,national image building,and cultural brand building in its diplomatic exchanges.Through public diplomacy,it promotes the construction of "people-to-people communication" between China and Central Asian countries.However,from the perspective of China’s implementation of public diplomacy in Central Asia,there is a big difference in the perception of China among the people of Central Asian countries.There are still many problems and challenges in China’s public diplomacy in Central Asia.In this regard,China should clearly define the strategic goals and working ideas of Central Asia ’s public diplomacy,combine the country ’s long-term strategic goals with public diplomacy goals,closely focus on building a China-Central Asia community of interests and a community of destiny,and improve the Chinese public diplomacy system.Further deepen cooperative public diplomacy,actively develop benign public diplomacy,and comprehensively enhance the effectiveness and level of public diplomacy in Central Asia.The thesis is divided into five parts:The introduction in the first chapter elaborates on the origin,theoretical background,concepts and characteristics of public diplomacy.At the same time,the different characteristics of public diplomacy and traditional diplomacy are compared;The second chapter mainly discusses the reasons for the necessity of China’s public diplomacy activities in Central Asia,and divides the development time of public diplomacy in Central Asian countries;The third chapter on the content,methods and characteristics of China’s public diplomacy activities in Central Asian countries,and summarizes the actual situation of China’s public diplomacy communication in Central Asia from the fields of online media,cultural exchanges,educational cooperation and tourism cooperation Initiatives;The fourth chapter elaborates achievements and challenges of China’s public diplomacy in Central Asian countries;The fifth chapter combines the collection of actual cases of China’s public diplomacy,and puts forward some suggestions for the development of China’s public diplomacy in Central Asia.
