The nanjing massacre is one page in the history of our country the bitter memories,the national symbol of day at the beginning of the establishment of the significance is to in the name of the country’s reaction to those who lost the unarmed people,comfort living survivors and descendants.The memorial for the nanjing massacre has never stopped,but the early memorial was at the local level,which became a national activity in 2014.The mass media gave three methods to record this period of history: documentary films,such as the requiem for nanjing,etc.;various films and television works related to the nanjing massacre,such as nanjing nanjing!The form of trio step by step strengthens people’s memory of this event.National memorial day is like a pair of invisible hands will hold people together,people of different identity,different occupation can have a common memory,get emotional resonance.Through ritual can awaken people’s historical consciousness,reengineering the collective memory,strengthen the national identity.Ritual communication is a spatial concept,which is not the transmission information of mass meaning,but enables people to gather together in a collective or organizational form to obtain a common emotional identity and realize the unity of national identity.The purpose of studying national memorial day by using the theory of ritual communication is to analyze and elaborate the current communication status,characteristics and significance of national memorial day through the theory of ritual communication,so as to form a comprehensive,multi-level and rich understanding of national memorial day,and to find out the obstacles and methods to promote the development of national memorial day in ritual communication.Select the nanjing massacre victims as the research object national symbol of day the event since 2014,has held 6 times symbol of ceremony.Therefore,this paper analyzes the national memorial ceremonies and activities in the six years of 2014,2015,2016,2017,2018 and 2019.Firstly,this paper analyzes the concepts and theories related to national memorial day and ritual communication.Secondly,the national memorial day ceremony spread situation is analyzed;and then analyzes the communication characteristics and significance of the national memorial day ritual communication.The communication characteristics are sorted out from the three directions of the memorial day ritual activities themselves,media participation and symbols.The significance of the national memorial day ritual communication is the two parts of collective memory and national identity.Finally compare the jewish holocaust and patriotic war memorial,analysis of the whole world from world war ii and the people suffered persecution,how their country memorial form our own national memory and identity.On this basis,summarizes the author’s own understanding of the communication of national memorial day ceremony,and thinks about the communication of national memorial day ceremony,hoping to improve the national memorial day in the future.
