For a long time,China’s state intervention has played an important role in market competition. The government’s assistance to specific industries is extensive, and the forms of compensation are various. As a result of the country’s preferential treatment given to particular areas and enterprises, there have been many disputes that China has been the respondent since China’s entry into the WTO,revealing the potential risks of China’s state aid behavior. While signing a free trade agreement,China needs to further its state assistance regulations to comply with WTO rules. The European Union has relatively mature theoretical and practical experience in the control of state aid.It also absorbed relevant provisions of internal policies in the free trade agreements, and at the same time,it was in line with related WTO rules in the regulation of subsidies. This thesis intends to analyze the possible problems from the perspective of state aid regulation in the free trade agreement, summarize the clauses of China’s free trade agreements and related dispute cases.Based on taking an example from the European Union experience, the thesis will put forward some relevant suggestions in combination with China’s practice.
