Institutional Development And Stability In Afghanistan | | Posted on:2022-02-19 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Institution:University | Candidate:Saheb Zada Mohammad Ibrahim | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2506306332966099 | Subject:International relations | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | In the wake of 9/11,the US strategy in Afghanistan,under widespread pressure to fight terrorism(Wo T),was essentially for overthrowing Taliban regime.This is because system,according the US organizations,is in response to a request to remove Osama bin Laden,who is thought to have been killed in a 2001 attack by psychiatric militants in the United States.Nevertheless,with the collapse of Taliban system,the War of Terror project did not end instead was modified into state-building project.Why the vote plan was carried to a statemade format is a plan that has been going on for the previous 1 decade and 7 years.This study examines the strategy of Barack Obama and Donald Trump in Afghanistan and post 9/11 United States strategy from an adversarial point of view.The study’s prime objective is to have the comparative analysis of the US Policies for Afghanistan developed by the Barack Obama and the Donald Trump to find out the root cause for policy shift.Particularly,it inspects US strategy,from the decision of state-building and reasons behind it.The article claims that the United States’ role has been inspired by two crucial inspirations: first is to protect itself from additional strikes by psychiatric militants and to increase security,and second,the need for management in South Asia.The other is to end regional domination.Finally it was concluded that Obama’s policies were better than Trump,but Trump had time advantage for the institutional development and stability in Afghanistan.Generally,the study has comprised five chapters: Chapter one cover the introductory part that explaining the over role idea on the presidencies of Barak Obama and Donald Trump highlighting their international policy towards Afghanistan;the significance of conducting this study and the methodology.Chapter two illustrates literatures from different authors on governments of Obama and Trump towards Afghanistan.Chapter three explains the key factors of Obama’s foreign policy towards Afghanistan.His agendas of state building and military combat with Taliban have been discussed along with the factors of failures of his policy.This chapter also discussed intra Afghan dialogues and US dialogues with Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries under the presidency of Obama.Chapter four shows the foreign policy of President Trump and its key agenda’s towards Afghanistan along with his motivation.Chapter five analyzed the reasons behind the shift of policy from Obama’s tenure to Trump’s era.Be it Trump’s attitude towards making America great again or Obama’s extreme foreign policy,the effects on war in Afghanistan and its impact on state building in the country has been assessed in this chapter.Chapter six which the final one concludes and gives the personal opinions based on the findings explored in this study... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | War on Terror, US policy, State-building, Offensive realism, Afghanistan | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
