The Study On Solutions To Police Image Improvement Through Internal Supervision Of The Public Security System

Internal supervision serves as an effective mechanism to reinforce police management and promote quality work as it can uncover and deal with misconduct timely.Our ongoing internal supervision system which embraces multiple supervising subjects and all-round supervising content is objectively shaping the positive police image.In the meanwhile,the internal supervision in police organization shares the same leadership and destination with police image building.It is the similarity that makes internal supervision highly practicable to improve police image building.As one crucial part of government image,police image is simultaneously a remarkable communication carrier between police department and the public.The positive police image helps the police officers fulfilling their duties and achieving their goals.Recently,with the introduction of the subjects from public relation,media,and image by the police department from different levels,the overall police image building has achieved great results.However,by comparing both theoretical and practical development of police image building in recent years,it has a tilt toward media and the mass work.The negligence of self-quality construction could lead the subsequent image building to a bottleneck.This study attempts to explore an alternative to promote police image building from the perspective of internal supervision itself.This study is consisted of five parts.In the first part,this study will sum up the notable theoretical and practical achievement of both domestic and foreign police departments conducting internal supervision and image building.The meaning and objective of the study will be clearly set on this basis while the research ideas,methods,and innovations will be included in discussion.The second part describes the nature,subject,and characteristic of police image and internal supervision.In order to theoretically support the following analysis,the work content,work subject,and leadership related to internal supervision promoting image building will be also addressed in this part.In the next part this study will point out some problems emerged in the existing image building practice.The potential causes behind those problems will be discussed from the perspectives of supervising content,supervising process,and supervising level.It could be seen as the efforts that this study made to put forward rational suggestions.The fourth part is methodology.In this part this study argues that developing supervising concept,establish collaborative supervising system,promote multiple internal supervising forms,and comprehensively use internal supervision can be effective alternatives toward police image building.This study will reach a conclusion in the last part.The main arguments made by this study will be included while some pros and cons of this study will be mentioned.In the light of promoting creative police image building,this study starts from the correlations between internal supervision and police image building.As an effective method to police image building,a rational internal supervision could not only supervise daily police work,it but also has practical meaning in building positive police image expected by the public.
