Research On The Influence Factors Of Trust In The Grass-roots Government

The trust of grass-roots government is the key factor to maintain close relationship and realize cooperation between grass-roots government and the masses.Under the description of the administrative subcontract system,the grass-roots government acts as an agent within the government organization and is responsible for establishing direct contact with the public.After the outbreak of the COVID-19,the trust of the grass-roots government has become the basis of the belief of the masses to participate in group prevention and control.The effective implementation of the government’s epidemic prevention and control policy depends on the public’s trust in the local government.With the normalization of COVID-19 prevention and control,it is beneficial for the grass-roots government to explore the influence factors and strengthen the trust of the grass-roots government in a targeted way.In this paper,random sampling and questionnaire survey were conducted in three innercity community streets and townships in Hebei Province,and it can be found that during the epidemic period,women’s trust in the local government is higher than men’s in terms of gender.The difference analysis based on age found that the grass-roots government trust of this group over 60 years of age was the highest,and the trust of the group aged 30 and below was the lowest.As far as different occupations are concerned,the degree of trust is from high to low for civil servants and staff of institutions,farmers,enterprise workers,self-employed persons.At the same time,it is found through the main component analysis and related regression analysis : during the epidemic period,changes in the economic conditions of residents will lead to changes in trust of grass-roots governments.Fluctuations in material life pressure caused by the COVID-19 can affect residents’ evaluation of government capacity,while social security and welfare-related systems and policies can have a positive impact on the trust of grass-roots governments.The performance of leading officials will affect the overall level of trust of the residents in the grass-roots government:misconduct by officials can lead to public questioning and criticism.The grass-roots government can gain a higher degree of trust from the masses by carrying out epidemic prevention policies efficiently and effectively.
