A Research On Characteristic Of 3 To 6 Year Old Children’s Creative Thinking

Creative thinking,which play an important role in children’s mental and approach to learning,is the focus of the preschool education all over the world.Besides,it is of great value for preschool children to keep on learning and lifelong development.In this paper,the characteristic of children’s creative thinking was surveyed by literature,test and interview.Also,120 preschool children aged from 3 to 6 in a public kindergarten in Guangzhou were randomly selected as the objects and Torrance Creative Thinking Test-Type A was selected as a measuring tool for measuring children’s creative thinking.Also,according to self-made evaluation tools named An Interview Syllabus of Children’s Creative Thinking for Teachers and An Interview Syllabus of Children’s Creative Thinking for Parents,6 teachers and 6 parents are invited to participate in the interviews.The interviews can help the researcher to know the influence factors of children’s creative thinking in constructive play.The conclusion is as follows:First,creative thinking of 3 to 6 years old children presents the following features: the score of originality of thinking was higher than the score of fluency of thinking and the score of fluency of thinking was higher than the score of flexibility of thinking.But there was great individual difference in the score of them,especially the score of originality of thinking.Second,there was no gender difference in creative thinking of 3 to 6 years old children.Third,there was significant age difference in creative thinking of 3 to 6 years old children.3 to 4 years old children were different from 4 to 6 years old children.But there was no significant difference between 4 to 5 years old children and 5 to 6 years old children.Besides,with age increase,children’s creative thinking was improving.Fourth,creative thinking of 3 to 6 years old children was affected by these parts:Family factors(Family type,Parent-Child interaction and Parents’ opinions of game),Teacher factors(Teachers’ opinions of game and Teachers’ directions)and constructive play(Space of constructive play,Time of constructive play and Materials of constructive play).At last,the influence factors of children’s creative thinking were discussed in detail.The following suggestions were put forward:First,teachers should help chilren to development originality,fluency and flexibility of creative thinking.Second,teachers and parents should select the androgynous educational mode for children.Third,teachers and parents should respect children’s age difference and use different ways to instruct them.Fourth,parents should have scientific opinions of game and improve the interaction.Also,they are supposed to respect and encourage their children to image and creative.Fifth,teachers should provide children with scientific guidance in games and motivate their creativity.Sixth,teacher should prepare an environment with a safe space and enough materials,which can make sure children have enough time to play and development their creative thinking.
