A Study On The Influence Of Parenting Style On Negative Feedback Acceptance Of The New Generation | | Posted on:2021-03-28 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y Wang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2507306104489384 | Subject:Administrative Management | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | As a performance management method,negative feedback is widely used in practice.But the feedback effect is not always positive.Individuals respond to negative feedback in different ways.Some people may try to improve themselves while others choose to give up.It’s showed that more than a third of feedback has a negative impact on performance.Therefore,it is necessary to refine the mechanism of negative feedback on individuals.According to the feedback influence model on the information receiver proposed by Ilgen et al in 1979,negative feedback acceptance reflects the individual’s cognition on the accuracy of feedback and influences the behavior.An individual’s response to feedback depends largely on the individual’s personality traits,and the formation of individual personality traits is under the influence of individual growth environment.As a result of that,this study will choose the new generation as the research object,combined with the research status at home and abroad,based on the self-consistency theory and attribution theory from the individual level,to explore the influence of parenting style on the acceptance of negative feedback through the empirical research.In this study,college students were selected as the research objects.287 subjects were randomly selected to participate in the study using the method of scenario-based experiment and 259 pieces of valid data were obtained.Through the analysis of data,the results showed that:(1)four kinds of parenting styles had significant effect on the acceptance of feedback.Mother’s rejection,overprotection and father’s overprotection were positively related to the acceptance of negative feedback and mother’s warmth was negatively related to it;(2)individual’s self-esteem played a mediating role in the relationship between parenting style and negative feedback acceptance.When parenting style is more positive(the higher warmth,the lower rejection and overprotection),the self-esteem is higher,and the negative feedback acceptance is lower;(3)individual attributional style played a mediating role in the relationship between parenting style and negative feedback acceptance.When parenting style is more positive(the higher warmth,the lower rejection and overprotection),the internal attributional tendency is higher and the negative feedback acceptance is lower.Finally,combining with the theory and the results of data analysis,the main conclusions and some managerial implication were put forward.This study emphasized the great influence of parenting style on negative feedback acceptance and the mediating role of selfesteem and attribution style.It refined the research of the negative feedback and expanded the research of parenting style in the field of organizational behavior,which was helpful for the following research about the effect of negative feedback on individuals. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | negative feedback acceptance, parenting style, self-esteem, attribution style | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
