With the popularization of higher education in China,the training scale of academic postgraduates is increasing.At the same time,the quality of academic postgraduates’ education has appeared good and bad phenomenon intermingled,causing concern from all sides.How to ensure the quality of the academic graduate students while training on a large scale is a great challenge for China’s higher education.To a certain degree,the quality of training for academic graduate students is reflected in the level of students’ learning.Moreover,for academic postgraduates,whether they adapt to postgraduate study is not only related to their personal growth and development,but also directly affects the final quality of education.Therefore,the study of “academic masters learning adaptation” in this paper is of great theoretical and practical significance for promoting the healthy development of graduate students,improving the management of graduate education and improving the quality of graduate education.Based on the above purposes,this study adopts qualitative research method and conducts semi-structured in-depth interviews with 17 academic masters from H University to try to answer the following questions: What is the learning adaptation process of academic graduate students? What difficulties and challenges did they encounter in learning and how did they deal with them?What are the final results? What factors in the process of adaptation will affect the final result,and what suggestions should be adopted to deal with it?According to the research,the learning adaptation process of academic graduate students can be divided into three stages: “preparatory period”,“confused period” and“adjustment period”.Moreover,from the perspective of their current learning adaptation state,most of the graduate students can adapt to the current learning well,while few graduate students have poor adaptation state.Finally,through analyzing their adaptation process,I find that the factors that influence the adaptation of graduate students are both from the subjective aspects of students,including the motivation and professional foundation of graduate students before admission,the learning initiative after graduate students,and the students’ personal characteristics.There are also some objective factors from course learning and scientific research training.In view of this,I put forward countermeasures and suggestions from the three aspects of students,postgraduate tutors and schools.For students,they should choose their majors rationally,and consolidate their professional foundation and improve their learning initiative.Mentors should enhance their own sense of responsibility,and improve their own scientific research ability and guidance ability;The school should optimize the curriculum setting,improve the teaching quality,optimize the training and supervision mechanism for graduate tutors,and strengthen the psychological education and guidance for students.
