| With the continuous development of multimedia technology,the use of multimedia to assist teaching has become the trend of educational development in the 21 st century.As a multimedia teaching method,digital storytelling has been popular abroad since the 1990 s,has been applied to various disciplines,and is very popular.Digital storytelling is based on multimedia tools to tell stories.Language learning is actually "storytelling." Most language teaching is based on topics,and language learning must be logical,that is to say,the content of language learning will not be cliff-like,Logic is language between classes.As a language that is not easy to master,a large number of vocabulary and complex sentence patterns have become a problem for teaching Chinese as a foreign language for students.Through digital storytelling,it can better assist language teachers and learners of Chinese.It can closely connect various knowledge points in the learning process,arouse students’ desire to use the language knowledge they learn to tell stories,and encourage students actively build a language learning system.Taking the opportunity of being a volunteer Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury,New Zealand,I carried out digital storytelling teaching methods to assist Chinese teaching practice in two primary schools in Christchurch,New Zealand.After questionnaire survey statistics and analysis of experimental results,I found that the digital storytelling method is feasible and effective in the Chinese classroom of New Zealand primary schools.I hope that the digital storytelling teaching method can be more widely used in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and will have more studies to explore digital storytelling. |
