Study On The Effect Of Family Structure On The Employment Intention Of Poor Labour

The coexistence of the vulnerability of family structure and the anti-vulnerability of employment intention forms the essential characteristics of the poor labour in China,and the research on the process of the effect of family structure on employment intention,so as to stimulate and guide the employment intention of poor labour,is of great significance to the promotion of China’s employment poverty alleviation.Based on the welfare triangle theory to construct a welfare triangle framework centered on the poor labour,this paper uses the data of CGSS(2012,2013 and 2015)and the binary Logit regression model to explore the effect of family structure on employment intention of poor labour,and further analysis in the groups to examine whether the employment intention was different in residential area and incomecomposition.The study found that:(1)In general,the family size,the dependency rate of children aged 6 to 15 have a significant positive effect on the employment intention of the poor labour,the dependency rate of children aged 5 and under has a significant negative effect on the employment intention of the poor labour,but the dependency rate of total,the dependency rate of elderly aged 65 to 79,the dependency rate of elderly aged 80 and over do not have a significant effect on the intention;(2)In urban and rural areas,the dependency rate of children aged 5 and under only has a significant negative effect on the employment intention of the poor labour living in urban areas,the dependency rate of children aged 6to 15 only has a significant positive effect on the employment intention of the poor labour living in rural areas;(3)For the poor labour with different income composition,the dependency rate of children aged 5 and under and the dependency rate of children aged 6 to 15 only have a significant effect on the employment intention of the poor labour without non-labour income,among which the dependency rate of children aged 5 and under has a negative effect and the dependency rate of children aged 6 to 15 has a positive effect.Non-labour income weakens the effect of family structure on employment intention,but at the same time,it also significantly weakens the employment intention of poor labour in general.On the basis of empirical research,this paper further puts forward policy suggestions,including establishing the poor family-friendly welfare institutions,encouraging the value of elderly,then realizing the revision of the state welfare to the family welfare;establishing a flexible working hour negotiation mechanism,encouraging the poor labour to obtain the employment nearby,then realizing the revision of the state welfare to the market welfare;promoting the connection between education subsidy and employment protection system,changing the reverse incentive function of the aid system,concerning to the self-development of the poor labour,then realizing the revision of national welfare to employment intention.This paper makes up for the blind spot of China’s employment poverty alleviation policy,responds to the employment intention demand of the poor labour with different family structure,and provides a new thought for the system optimization and practice improvement of employment poverty alleviation.
