As Chinese society develops,education is becoming more significant in social progress.The Ministry of Education has proposed to cultivate comprehensive talents who are grown in an all-round way for the society.The importance of physical education course has been emphasized in the education reform.As the primary way to train PE teachers,it is imperative for PE majors to cultivate excellent teachers that meet the requirement of the society.And the fundamental task for PE major is to improve students’ knowledge and skill,guide them to develop morality and social adaptability,and instruct correct learning methods.Education evaluation,the key to determine the outcome of education,needs to be improved as education reform progress on.The latest education reform has required treating students with a developmental perspective,paying attention to students’ growth and development,and making periodical evaluation throughout students’ education process.However,many colleges are still using the traditional evaluation methods which only gives a final evaluation to students.There are still a lot of obstacles lying on the way of promoting periodical evaluation in China’s colleges.In the context of the implementation of process-oriented education evaluation,this article takes the effect of the process evaluation of the professional education curriculum of physical education majors in universities in Yunnan Province as the research object,and adopts questionnaire survey methods,literature data methods,interview methods,classroom observation methods,and mathematical statistics.The method of investigating the subject curriculum of the physical education major of Yunnan Normal University is mainly based on five aspects: the basic situation,the teachers ’and students’ understanding of the process evaluation,the status of the process evaluation implementation,and the teachers’ and students’ satisfaction with the process evaluation.Perform a comprehensive analysis.In the context of underlining periodical evaluation,the article researched on the implementation of periodical evaluation in college PE majors in Yunnan Province.Yunnan Normal University was taken as an example to survey the situation through the questionnaire,literature analysis,interview,class observation and statistics.Analysis was carried out from five perspectives: basic information,the teachers’ and students’ understanding about periodical evaluation,how periodical evaluation is implemented,and the satisfaction of the teachers and students on the implementation.The result indicates that due to the promotion of the Ministry of Education and YNNU’s active response,periodical evaluation is properly implemented with the majority of teachers and students participated in.But there are negative factors for the development of periodical evaluation: insufficient attention and understanding of relevant theories,homogeneous evaluation subjects,incomplete evaluation items,lack of standardized evaluation mechanism,excessive class members,and deficient management.The article proposed the following countermeasures: improving understanding,diversifying evaluation subjects,enriching evaluation items and methods,formulating customized standards,and amending implementation and management mechanisms.It is expected to provide a reference for the implementation of periodical evaluation.
