| Since its birth,the Internet technology has been developing at an extraordinary speed.Today Internet technology has been applied to all aspects of our lives.In recent years,with the increasing popularity of the Internet in China,more and more people are engaged in digital life.Although the gap in Internet access is narrowing,the gap in Internet use is widening.Some groups cannot obtain equal opportunities for development on the Internet due to factors such as low education level,older age,low income and lack of Internet skills.For migrant workers who have been in a disadvantaged position in society for a long time,they are also at a disadvantage in the use of the Internet,and they have not fully enjoyed the improvements that the Internet has brought to their lives.Within the group of migrant workers,the ability to use the Internet and obtain information are also differentiated,and the situation of the more vulnerable migrant workers within the group becomes more difficult.Based on this,this paper takes migrant workers as the research object to study the differences in Internet use skills and online employment information acquisition within this group,and then analyzes the causes of the differences and puts forward corresponding suggestions.The research adopts questionnaire survey method and in-depth interview method.Through the questionnaire survey to grasp the relevant situation of migrant workers’ Internet access and Internet use skills,and then further analyze whether the level of migrant workers’ Internet use skills will lead to differences in their online employment information and job acquisition.In-depth interviews can provide a deeper understanding of the problems faced by migrant workers when using the Internet,and how they use the Internet to search for employment information and job hunting,which is helpful to explore the reasons for the differences in Internet use among migrant workers.The findings are as follows.There is a gap in Internet use skills among migrant workers.There are significant differences in Internet skills among migrant workers of different genders,ages,education levels and salary levels.The migrant workers whose gender is female,the younger the age,the higher the education level,and the higher the salary level,the higher the skills in using the Internet.The length of time spent on the Internet will affect the skill level of Internet use.The longer the time spent on the Internet,the higher the skills of migrant workers.There is a gap in Internet use among migrant workers.There are significant differences in whether migrant workers of different ages and educational levels take the initiative to obtain employment information online.The younger the migrant workers and the higher their educational level,the more proactive they are to obtain employment information online.Internet use skills,perception of characteristics and popularity of online employment information will affect whether migrant workers take the initiative to obtain employment information online.The higher the skills of using the Internet,the higher the evaluation of the online employment information and the higher the popularity of the online employment information among their peers,the more active the migrant workers are to access the online employment information.There is a gap in the effect of Internet use among migrant workers.Internet use skills will affect whether migrant workers can achieve successful employment through the Internet.Among migrant workers who have actively obtained employment information online,the more skilled migrant workers are,the easier it is to find a job through the Internet. |
