Research On The Impact Of Digital Literacy On The Employment Quality Of Migrant Worker

With the improvement of economic development,migrant workers pay more attention to the quality of employment,and the employment contradiction gradually shifts from quantitative to qualitative.Obtaining high-quality employment is not only the natural need of migrant workers,but also the economic foundation for achieving common prosperity,and the objective requirement for high-quality economic development.However,with the rapid iteration of digital technology,migrant workers,as a group of low-skilled labor,are facing the risk of structural unemployment.In other words,migrant workers are facing the dilemma of "difficult to match with jobs" in employment.For this reason,the government proposes to improve the level of digital literacy for all people,and as a product of the development of digital economy,digital literacy will certainly have an important impact on the employment quality of migrant workers.Therefore,it is of practical significance to explore the high-quality employment of migrant workers from the perspective of digital literacy.This paper elaborates on the theoretical mechanisms and pathways of the impact of digital literacy on the quality of employment for migrant workers by combining theories such as human capital,labor market segmentation,and job search.In terms of variable measurement,digital literacy is measured from both digital awareness and digital ability,while employment quality is measured in terms of work income,intensity,stability,security,and satisfaction.Based on the CFPS(2014-2020)data,this paper compares and analyzes the digital literacy and employment quality of migrant workers in China longitudinally and by category.Using models such as the fixed effects model,the moderated effects model,and the instrumental variable method,this paper examines the impact and mechanism of digital literacy on the quality of employment for migrant workers.The results show that,firstly,migrant workers have a greater preference for "entertainment" digital literacy in their digital literacy development from 2014 to 2020,and their digital ability improves more slowly than their digital awareness.Secondly,both digital awareness and digital ability can promote the improvement of employment quality for migrant workers in various dimensions,but digital ability has a stronger effect than digital awareness.Thirdly,the industry category and the level of digital infrastructure construction in the region will have a moderating effect on the impact of digital literacy on the quality of employment for migrant workers.Based on these findings,this paper proposes the following policy recommendations: first,we should focus on cultivating serious digital literacy and comprehensively improve the digital literacy of migrant workers;second,we should vigorously develop digital infrastructure construction to open up channels for improving employment quality;and third,we should accurately improve the employment quality of migrant workers and establish digital literacy training programs with industry characteristics.
