Research On The Living Situation And Development Space Of Baguazhang In Beijing

As an excellent cultural carrier of the Chinese nation,traditional wushu has shown different functions and values in different historical periods,which is the concrete embodiment of traditional culture in social changes.Baguazhang,as one of the three widely recognized internal styles in the category of martial arts,displays its functions of fighting,fitness and performance with its unique skills and routines.The paper explores the living state and development space of Baguazhang in Beijing,the capital of the China,and takes history as a mirror to carry forward the past and bring forward the future,so as to provide reference for better inheritance and development of Baguazhang.This study uses field investigation method,literature method,logical analysis,expert interviews methods and so on,explore the birthplace of Baguazhang in Beijing area and the inheritance and development present situation.Discovering the functions and social values of Baguazhang in different periods from the perspective of social change.And from the geographic space,technology space,cultural space,social space for the contemporary theory,discussing the inheritance and development space of Baguazhang.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)According to relevant folklore and historical research,although the founder of Baguazhang has not been confirmed,Dong Haichuan is recognized as the "first successor" by most of the inheritors of Baguazhang.Beijing is the area where "Dong Gong" first taught the Baguazhang skills.(2)In the Qing Dynasty,Beijing was in the social background of political turmoil,economic depression and favorable geographical environment.The inheritors often learn martial art from teachers with skills and were good at actual practice.Eventually,the Baguazhang with different styles,such as the Form,Yin Style,Liang Style and Fan Style,came into being.The inheritance pedigree of Baguazhang in Beijing is relatively scattered,and its context is not clear enough.At the same time,there are also some factors that are not conducive to the overall development of Baguazhang,such as the generational struggle.(3)According to the research results,the inheritance and transmission modes of Baguazhang in Beijing mainly include apprentice and study,associations,and mass communication through media.The training group is mostly male,and most of them are young and middle-aged people between 30 and 50 years old,who have received college education.Among the people who practice Baguazhang,most of them practice the Cheng Style,and the main content of practice is skills and routines.(4)Through the observation of the social structure in different historical periods,the functions of Baguazhang are constantly adjusted with these changes.In the Qing Dynasty,with the abolition of the "Wushu" and the emergence of firearms,its function changed from the military to the civilian security.During the period of the China,Baguazhang entered the Central Museum of National Art,whose function was mainly to inspire the national spirit.After the founding of the China,the domestic political structure gradually stabilized.Under the guidance of foreign diplomacy from many countries,Baguazhang gradually moved into the ranks of sports.The professional committee of Baguazhang was established in Beijing.(5)The contemporary inheritance and development of Baguazhang has a geographical space that bases on Beijing,promotes the whole country and radiates to the world;a technological space that lays equal emphasis on science and technology,integrates martial arts and medicine,and develops innovatively;a cultural space that promotes culture,techniques and doctrines simultaneously,and puts emphasis on educating people;and a social space that precisely locates,serves the public and develops continuously.It is suggested that in the process of inheriting and developing Beijing Baguazhang,regional martial arts should be developed to meet the needs of modern society,and standardized and unified teaching materials should be compiled to enter the campus as soon as possible.Adapt to the changes of the times and make appropriate adjustments to better meet the needs of the society.
