| At present,the development of international schools in China is rapidly developing,but research on physical education teachers in international schools has rarely appeared,especially in the field research on the survival status of physical education teachers in an international school.Based on the field research method and grounded theory,this paper uses a large number of field research notes,facts,participation observations,and interviews to analyze the survival status of nationality physical education teachers in the “S” international school in Beijing.The following conclusions.First,In the context of the rapid expansion of Beijing International School,in order to meet the localization needs of international schools,some Chinese teachers have been hired by international schools,and Chinese PE teachers of international schools have emerged as the times require.Second,international schools have higher salaries,more holidays and free time,parents are rich or expensive,a good English environment,multiculturalism and value,etc.,have attracted some young people to engage in sports teaching."S School" Chinese PE teachers have a bachelor’s degree in physical education,have at least one professional skill,and have a certain ability to communicate in English.Third,Chinese sports teachers of "S School" regard this job of international school as a "transit station" for their career development.They take the initiative to plan their future life and career development.They make full use of the resources and environment of international schools.To maximize your own interests: make money,learn foreign languages,and control your time.Fourth,in the context of international schools,Chinese S sports teachers in "S School" are in a dilemma of "prosperity and retreat" and "high or low".This situation affects their investment in work and attitudes towards students,which makes it difficult to obtain a sense of professional achievement.Fifth,The survival mode of Chinese nationality PE teachers in Beijing International School is the result of interaction between external factors and personal factors.The globalized international market environment has brought challenges to the occupational safety of Chinese nationality sports teachers.The state ’s education policy centered on public schools has led to the marginalization of private schools and the resulting welfare benefits for Chinese nationality sports teachers in international schools are lower than The status of public schools;the preferences of foreign teachers in international schools driven by business interests and the differences in pay between Chinese and foreign teachers and teachers in different disciplines have led to lower income and status for Chinese sports teachers.Female teachers account for the majority in international schools and they are A good educational background and family economic conditions further make these physical education teachers feel the pressure from their peers.The background of Chinese physical education teachers who have received higher education in physical education colleges,mastering of sports-specific skills,planning for future careers,active and pragmatic ways of doing things,and family background have put them in this multicultural,not ideal school Survive in the environment.This article suggests that the government and the Ministry of Education should strengthen the management of international schools,and introduce norms and tuition caps for international schools.Call on private schools to strictly improve the treatment of physical education teachers in accordance with the standards of equal pay for equal work.To achieve a win-win situation for teachers,schools and students. |
