| The pros and cons of the reading environment have a significant impact on the stimulation of children’s reading interest,the cultivation of reading habits and the improvement of early reading ability.A high-quality kindergarten reading environment will stimulate children to carry out reading activities so that it will affect the effect of early reading.This study used observation method,the investigation method,the interview method to investigate ten kindergartens in Jinan City,Shandong Province.The survey results found the following problems in the creation and utilization of the kindergarten reading space.Firstly,there is small reading space.The reading space has a single source of reading materials and these materials cannot be updated in time.In addition,the reading device does not reflect the size of children.There is a lack of soft materials in the reading space.There is a single function and a lack of gameplay in the reading space.Also,the relationship between teachers and children in the reading space presents the characteristics of high control.Besides,the management system of the reading space is not perfect and the rules and regulations are not implemented as required.The time and frequency are used inflexibly in the reading space.Furthermore,there is a low utilization of reading space in collective teaching.There is an inappropriate teacher guidance in the reading space.There is a poor educational effect of using the reading space in the transitional link.Finally,there is not enough open reading space.There is a lack of effective linkage between reading spaces.There are some main reasons by analysis.Firstly,teachers have a lack of understanding of the reading space.Second,teachers need improve environmental creation,space planning and observation abilities.Plus,teachers need strengthen the relationship with families and communities.Last,kindergartens funds are insufficient and the rules and regulations are not clear and detailed.In order to improve the quality of the creation and utilization of the kindergarten reading space,we give some educational suggestions.Firstly,we propose the multi-cooperation to create attractive reading physical environment.Second,we suggest changing traditional concepts to create a harmonious reading spiritual environment.Last,we advise using the reading space flexibly and efficiently. |
