In view of the research trend of "space shift" and the practice dilemma of the lack of children’s subjectivity and participatory opportunities in kindergarten space creation.This study attempts to transform the traditional concept of space creation and introduce the theory of children’s participation into the study of theme space creation of art area.Through the participation of children in the design and implementation of theme space creation activities of art area to provide opportunities for children to experience the space creation of art area.Promote children actively participate and integrate their needs and feelings into space creation.Let the space creation of theme activities of art area truly come from children,adjust through children,and serve the children,and realize the construction of space suitability and promote the development of children.The study summarized relevant theories and practices of children’s participation in space creation in the domestic and foreign.By learning social space theory,Childhood research theory,experiential learning theory and using design based approach for a comprehensive analysis of influence theme activities space creating elements,to create the space of art area frame structures and process design,and applied to practice.In practice,children around the theme of"mini Qinhuai River." to carry out space creation activities.The process mainly includes three phases:spatial layout design,prototype building space,beautify and improve the space structure,each stage includes:preparation and design,organization and implementation,reflection and discussion.This study uses organization strategy of team cooperation,the collective share,independent establishment,and constantly the space creation method.Finally,this study explored a unique activity plan of children participate in the space creation of the theme activities.Based on the statistical analysis of the whole research data,this study is approved for the activities of harvest,affirmed the feasibility of children to participate in activities model,and verified the children in the process of the activities in the knowledge and skills,process and method,emotion and attitude in terms of growth.
