| Since the implementation of the universal two-child policy,the problem of sibling acceptance in a two-child family has increasingly become a common social problem,which has begun to attract the attention of educators.However,the relevant research is relatively scarce about sibling acceptance in Chinese primary schools.By referring to domestic and international researches,via scientific investigation,This article attempts to understand the status quo of sibling acceptance of the first-born pupil in a Chinese two-child family,to explore its influencing factors and find ways to improve.The researcher firstly sorted out and formed the theoretical basis of this investigation on the basis of referring to relevant theories and literatures.Sibling acceptance of the first-born child in a two-child family refers to the fact that the first-born child in a two-child family is happy with the birth of his brother(or sister),and identifys himself(or herself)psychologically as an older brother(or sister),and has little or no behavior related to rejecting the second-born child.According to the different degrees of acceptance,the sibling acceptance of the first-born child can be divided into four types: complete acceptance,general acceptance,general non acceptance and complete non acceptance.The negative psychological experience mainly includes internal aggressive psychology,external aggressive psychology,unsafe parent-child attachment level increasing,emotional camouflage appearing in different degrees,extreme ideas sprouting and so on.The improper behavior is manifested in degenerative,revenge,rebelling,performing,aggressive behavior,etc.The paper also sorts out the general factors that affect the level of sibiling acceptance from several aspects,such as the first-born child himself,the two-child family,schools and society.On the basis of the above theories,this study takes a primary school in Changyi City,Shandong Province,where the author works,as an example,and takes the first-born children and their parents in the two-child familys as the research objects.By means of questionnaire survey and interview survey,from two aspects of psychology and behavior,in the span of time before and after the second child was born,the author has conducted a multi-angle analysis and investigation.This survey found that the majority of two-child families in the sample schools have more or less the problem of sibling acceptance.The acceptance of siblings has the characteristics of instability and learning segment.Some of the first-born child do not have a clear role orientation,and some of them appears social avoidance and unsafe parent-child alienation.The acceptance of girls is generally better than that of boys,but they are more likely to get out extremely non acceptance.The survey data also revealed the influencing factors of the acceptance status of the children’s siblings of the sample school principals,mainly including the differences in the characteristics of sibling structure and the multi-dimensional changes of family factors.Among them,the characteristic differences of sibling structure mainly include age and age difference,gender and gender combination and other factors.The multi-dimensional changes of family factors mainly include the mutation of elders’ emotion and parenting style,parents’ cognition of compatriots’ acceptance,parents’ satisfaction with marriage relationship,parents’ preference for the first-born child,and the adequacy of parent-child communication.The results also show that the correlation between the family social background and sibling acceptance is low.Finally,the researchers put forward a number of Educational Countermeasures to improve the acceptance status of the two-child families,mainly including:Scientifically arrange the age difference between older and younger children to avoid too large or too small a gap as far as possible,cultivating sunshine mentality,establishing the sense of responsibility of the first-born children;giving sufficient regression space to avoid the extreme of compatriots’ rejection;enhancing parent-child communication,improving the level of security attachment;preferring the first-born children appropriately,reducing the psychological gap of the first-born children;innovating family school cooperation The media should reflect on themselves and create a good atmosphere conducive to compatriots’ acceptance. |
