In the context of the digital age,the Internet and new media are booming.Electronic information has long been integrated into everyone’s life.Education should keep up with the changes of the times,adapt and even lead the development.Multimedia-assisted geography teaching is relatively matur.As the form of multimedia continues to change,the medium of instruction also changes.The concept of high school geography is the foundation and guarantee for the study of geography.Influenced by ideas,habits and other factors,the status of concept teaching is not very clear,and the method is more traditional.After the core literacy of the geography subject is raised,the requirements for the cultivation of students’geographic ability are improved.Take this opportunity to try to use short video to assist high school geography concept teaching.The article also focuses on analyzing problems from the perspective of teachers and students,in order to presents and discusses this teaching method objectively and realistically.This paper analyzes the status of short video-assisted geography teaching and concept teaching through theoretical research.We obtain and analyze the application of short video-assisted high school geography concept teaching through teacher interviews and student questionnaire surveys.The results show that teachers use this method with obvious age stratification.Young teachers have a more positive attitude towards this method,and some are already trying to use this.From the feedback of students,teachers pay more attention to the teaching of geographical concepts,but there are not many ways to use short video teaching.We take the one-hour compulsory"external force" class in high school as an example.We specifically show the selection and application of short videos,the practical application of this method in teaching and student feedback by instructional design and classroom teaching records.We get significant achievements in classroom teaching practice.Through a one-semester comparative experiment,the experimental class used short video to assist high school geography teaching in teaching evaluation.The experimental class is more active.The test results are generally better,and the details of the knowledge are more in place.The feedback of the core literacy training in geography is also more obvious,for example,students have a more acute perception and more in-depth thinking about the concept of coordination between people and the earth.Whether from the theoretical analysis or the results of practical feedback,short video assisted high school geography teaching is feasible and necessary.This method can solve the existing common problems of teachers and students of geography teaching in high school.It can help us clarify the important position of geographic concepts and the learning tasks and levels of geographic concepts.It can also effectively improve classroom efficiency,drive students learning initiative,and improve students’academic performance so that we can effectively complete the geographic core literacy cultivation goal.Second,it can promote the improvement of teachers’ professional ability and the enthusiasm of teaching reform;Simplify teachers’ tasks to a certain extent;It can also provide new ideas for teachers who want to further develop and study multimedia-assisted teaching,which can promote teachers to take the initiative to improve professional accomplishment and the goal of lifelong learning.
