Teacher’s ethics is the first criterion for teacher evaluation,which occupies the primary position in a teacher’s career.Teachers should combine teaching and self-cultivation,so as to establish themselves and teach with virtue,and become a good teacher with noble morality.However,with the rapid development of society and the prevalence of consumerism and liberalism,a variety of moral problems and contradictions have become increasingly apparent,and the phenomenon of teachers’ moral anomies has occurred from time to time.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to guide teachers to set up a correct concept of teachers’ ethics and develop a noble quality of teachers’ ethics.Under the current situation,the key to a teacher’s development into an educator with noble ethics is whether he or she can insist on casting soul with thought.The splendid traditional culture of the Chinese nation,which has been bred in its 5,000 years of history,contains abundant moral thoughts and is the source and spiritual root of the Chinese people.As the main body of China’s excellent traditional culture,Confucian culture attaches great importance to self-cultivation and moral cultivation.It emphasizes that moral cultivation should start from self,"seek self" and "introspection",and improve moral cultivation from "introspection"."Introspection" is one of the Confucian moral cultivation methods,condenses the essence of the Confucian moral cultivation thought,is the most direct expression of the Confucian moral cultivation thought,is an important force for people to improve themselves,self-cultivation,and has an important reference and inspiration for teachers to cultivate their moral character,cultivate their morality.Therefore,based on the excellent traditional Chinese culture,draw the essence from the Confucian "introspection" thought,and explore the inner mechanism of cultivating teacher’s ethics is an important driving force to promote the cultivation of teacher’s ethics,and is also one of the actions to inherit and develop the excellent traditional Chinese culture.Based on this,this paper combines the Confucian thought of "introspection" with the cultivation of middle school teachers’ ethics,and guides teachers to consciously strengthen their moral cultivation by referring to the essence of the Confucian thought of "introspection",so as to improve and perfect the quality of teachers’ ethics.This paper adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method and other research methods to explore the connotation and combination of Confucian "introspection" and teachers’ ethics in theory and practice.The "introspection" advocated by Confucianism is a kind of moral introspection.Guided by faith,this kind of moral introspection is an act of self-consciousness and self-discipline.It has a very powerful spiritual power,which is conducive to improving the self-education consciousness of moral subjects and cultivating people’s self-discipline consciousness and spirit.Therefore,in order to carry out targeted research,a survey was conducted on teachers’ ethics in four middle schools in Zhumadian City,Henan Province.The survey mainly included four aspects: teachers’ morality towards the educational cause,students’ morality,collective morality and themselves.Through the investigation,it is found that the current teachers’ morality is generally good,but there are still some problems in the aspects of professional faith,justice quality,collective consciousness and moral reflection consciousness,and the level of teachers’ morality needs to be improved.The process of cultivating teachers’ ethics is a process in which teachers integrate external norms with internal values,and largely depends on teachers’ internal understanding of the educational cause and requirements of teachers’ ethics.In essence,it is a process of teachers’ self-discipline and introspection.Therefore,it can be seen that the "introspection" thought of Confucianism is highly consistent with the cultivation of teachers’ ethics,which is specifically reflected in the combination of the two in the subject,goal and process.Therefore,based on the value and compatibility of the Confucian thought of "introspection" to the cultivation of teachers’ ethics,this paper puts forward suggestions to promote the cultivation of teachers’ ethics from two aspects: the inner cultivation emphasizes that teachers should make good use of "introspection" and pay attention to selfcultivation;"External molding" emphasizes that schools should carry out the spirit of "introspection" and respect the principal position of teachers.It is hoped that teachers can gradually establish a system of self-awareness and self-reflection to cultivate teachers’ ethics under the nourishment of excellent traditional Chinese culture,and become educators with roots and soul.
