In order to increase the development of new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability and their professional ability. Under professional standard.this paper examined the new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability from two different aspects of theory and practice. In theory, the research contents mainly included the following two parts. First, this paper combed the research background and basis of teachers’ teaching introspection and its ability. Second, it established the framework (or construction) of new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability. In practice, this paper examined current status and limitation of new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability by combining questionnaire and interview. The results showed that the level of new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability was relatively low. The main factors were ideal individual differences, influence of atmosphere in different school, limitation of educational mechanism, high teaching pressure, lack of training for education and outdated educational concept. According to the results, there were three cultivation principles and strategies put forward for improving the new-appointed high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability. Specifically, the cultivation principles were policy oriented principle, principle of humanistic and the principle of practice guiding, In addition, the strategies from different aspects were education mechanism, school system and teachers.This paper consisted of 6 sections:First/Section one:This section included the research significance, status and plan. It pointed out the direction to the research of this paper.Second/Section two:This section included the research background. It manifested the necessity and urgency of the research from policy, subject and new teachers’ professional development.Third/Section three:This section established the framework (or construction) of new high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability under the guidance of Professional Standard.Fourth/Section four:This section examined the new high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability by combining questionnaire and interview. First, a questionnaire survey was carried out to 100 new high school geography teachers. Second, two senior high school geography teachers were invited to an interview. The conclusions are as follows. First, since lack of the ability to collect the educational information and scientific self-diagnosis, failing to master teaching introspection method and apply to practice, the current problem is a relatively low level in the new high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection ability. Second, there are also some factors impacting the teaching introspection ability such as limitation of educational mechanism, influence of atmosphere in different school, ideal individual differences, lack of training for education and outdated educational concept.Fifth/Section five:This section included several principles and suggestions which were put forward based on the analysis of current status and limitation factors in new high school geography teachers’ teaching introspection. First,the cultivation principles were policy oriented principle, principle of humanistic and the principle of practice guiding, In addition, the strategies from different aspects were education mechanism, school system and teachers.Sixth/Last section:This section included research conclusions and prospect. It consisted of summarizing research conclusions, reflecting imperfections and predicting the research in the future.
