| Background:Due to various factors of body and exercise, mainly including the transformation of off-body cognition to embodied cognition in cognitive psychology,as well as the deficiencies of traditional intervention procedures in psychotherapy, exercise is a new supplement and comprehensive interventions are valued by researchers. At the same time,a large amount of research evidence has confirmed that exercise can reduce anxiety, depression and PTSD symptoms, while regulating the individual’s emotional, increasing the self-esteem and sense of self-control.With the development of self-esteem research, people have discovered that high self-esteem is not a simple structure.Fragile self-esteem individuals are more prone to negative emotions such as anxiety and depression than low self-esteem individuals, accompanied by aggressive behaviors, rejection behaviors, binge eating behaviors. There may be more different situations in which exercises can improve individual self-esteem.Individuals with different types of self-esteem may have different effects in exercises, and the self-esteem improved by exercises may not be good for the individual. Methods:Experiment 1,using questionnaires to collect six variables:exercise volume, overall self-esteem,self-esteem instability,self-esteem contingency, state anxiety, and trait anxiety,to explore the relationship between exercise habits and self-esteem and anxiety. In Experiment 2,on the basis of Experiment 1,participants with low exercise volume were divided into two groups:intervention group and control group. They performed small exercise programs of 30 minutes each time 3 times a week for 5 weeks, and performed self-esteem and anxiety at four time points.Results:(1)Participants who usually exercise a lot have higher overall self-esteem and self-esteem contingency, and lower trait anxiety;(2)The intervention group participants’ overall self-esteem and self-esteem contingency increase significantly,self-esteem instability, state anxiety, and trait anxiety are significant Decrease;(3)Fragile self-esteem improves significantly in the overall self-esteem during exercise, and self-esteem is not stable and contingent. Conclusion:Physical exercise improves the overall self-esteem of the individual, but at the same time increases the self-esteem contingency, but does not change the type of self-esteem. |
