This paper attempts to explore the influences of social activity and individual activity on college students' self-esteem and psychological health,which is on the basis of the literature and the result of research on the relationship between body-esteem,global self-esteem;anxiety, depression and ways of physical exercises.The 81 Subjects in the experiment are randomly chosen from the volunteers from Information College of Jiangxi University of Finance and economics.Then,they are randomly derided into experiment class and control class.Twenty of the subjects from the experiment class are arranged in the basketball group and twenty-one subjects from the same class in the longdistance running group.Both the two groups are asked to take part in middling intensity psychical exercises for 3 times pre week.The duration of each time is 60 minutes.The level of subject's body-esteem,human-esteem,and anxiety and depression is measured separately both before and after the experiment.Then the spss10.0 software is used to make a statistical analysis on the data.The result indicates that,as far as body-esteem,global self-esteem,anxiety and depression are concerned,there are certain effects on the subjects which demonstrate that physical exercises can greatly implore and enhance college student's self-esteem and physical health.As will be illustrated in the following two points:1.Middling intensity psychical exercises enhance college students' body-esteem and global self-esteem as well as decrease there anxiety and depression.2.As for the effects on global self-esteem,there is no difference between social activity and individual activity.3.This research As far as the effects on body-esteem are concerned there is no difference between social activity and individual activity,but social activity can greatly implore and enhance college students' body-charming.That is to say,social activity does more good to body-esteem than individual activity.4.From the research we can see social activity and individual activity have no different effects on anxiety.5.The result from the research indicates that only social activity has notable differences on depression.That is social activity having more remarkable effects on depression than individual activity.The research shows that different kinds of physical exercises have different effects on college students' psychology.Generally speaking,social activities have better effect on students' psychology than individual activities.
