Loneliness is a negative state of mind.Studies have shown that loneliness can bring negative emotions to teenagers,causing damage to their mental health.As a positive emotion regulation strategy,self-compassion can effectively alleviate negative emotions.Therefore,on the basis of investigating the characteristics of loneliness,self-compassion and negative emotions of junior high school students,this research deeply explores the relationship between the three factors,and examines the intervention effect of self-compassion group counseling on the loneliness of adolescents.This paper includes two studies.In the first study,"Adolescent Loneliness Scale","Self Compassion Scale",and "Negative Emotion Scale" were used to conduct a questionnaire survey of 1146 junior high school students to analyze the status quo of junior high school students’ loneliness,self-compassion and negative emotions.In this study,the relationship between loneliness,self-compassion and negative emotions of junior high school students were analyzed and the mediating effect of self-compassion was explored.In the second study,24 subjects from the first study were selected and divided into experimental group and intervention group,each with 12 people.6-week self-compassion group counseling was conducted for the experimental group while no intervention was implemented for the control group.The pre-test data and post-test data of the two groups of subjects were analyzed.Research shows:1.The loneliness,compassion and negative emotion levels of junior high school students differs partly significantly in different genders,grades,and whether they are class monitors.2.The loneliness of junior high school students can significantly positively predict negative emotions;self-compassion can significantly negatively predict negative emotions.3.Self-compassion can regulate the influence of loneliness on negative emotions of junior high school students,especially teenagers with high levels of self-compassion,can restrain the influence of loneliness on negative emotions to a certain extent.4.Self-compassion group counseling can significantly improve the level of self-compassion and reduce loneliness of junior high school students,and at the same time can improve the negative emotions of junior high school students.This study analyzes the status quo of loneliness,self-compassion and negative emotions among junior high school students,clarifies the role of self-compassion in regulating the influence of loneliness on negative emotions,and explores the the effectiveness of intervention of self-compassion group counseling on negative emotions,which helps junior high school students to improve their self-compassion and promote their physical and mental health.
