In recent years,campus bullying has occurred frequently,which has aroused widespread concern of the government,scholars and the public.A large number of scholars have found that individuals who have been bullied will face more difficulties in their life,learning and interpersonal communication.Middle school students are in a critical period of rapid physical and mental development.Being bullied is one of the adverse life events in school,which seriously endangers their physical and mental health.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the bullying behavior of middle school students.This study focuses on the influencing factors and mechanism of middle school students being bullied on campus.Taking shyness as the breakthrough point,this study explores the mediating role of shyness between parental rearing style and being bullied,so as to provide reference for the prevention and intervention of campus bullying.In this study,1200 middle school students were investigated with the simple parenting style questionnaire,the multi-dimensional bullying scale and the shyness scale,and 12 students were interviewed with the interview outline.(1)Among the bullying phenomena of middle school students,verbal bullying is the most serious,followed by interpersonal bullying,property bullying,forced bullying,physical bullying and others.There is a significant difference in the total score of bullying among middle school students in grade,grade one is significantly higher than grade two and grade three;The first grade is significantly higher than the second and third grade;There was no significant difference between grade one of junior high school and grade one of senior high school;The lower the parents’ educational level,the more likely the individual is to be bullied;There is no significant difference in whether the only child,whether the single parent family,gender.(2)There are significant gender differences in the factors of father’s rejection,father’s emotional warmth,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection.Boys will experience higher level of father’s rejection,girls will feel more emotional warmth from father,and parents’ overprotection to boys is significantly higher than that to girls;The factor of mother’s emotional warmth is significantly different in whether the only child is the only child or not;The factors of father overprotection and mother overprotection are significantly different in single parent families,and the children in non single parent families are significantly higher than those in single parent families.(3)The average score of shyness level of middle school students is 38.82,and the shyness degree is higher;There is no significant difference in gender,only child or single parent family.(4)The bullying of middle school students was positively correlated with father’s refusal and mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection,but not with father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth;Shyness of middle school students is positively correlated with the factors of father’s refusal,mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection,and negatively correlated with the factors of father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth;Shyness is positively correlated with bullying.(5)The factors of father’s refusal,mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection positively predict bullying,while the factor of father’s emotional warmth negatively predict bullying.(6)The factors of father’s refusal,mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection positively predict shyness,while the factors of father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth negatively predict shyness.(7)Shyness significantly positively predicted bullying.(8)Shyness plays a mediating role between father’s refusal,mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection,mother’s overprotection and bullying.conclusionThe higher the degree of shyness of middle school students,the more likely they are to be bullied.Father’s refusal,mother’s refusal,father’s overprotection and mother’s overprotection will aggravate the shyness of middle school students,and then lead them to be bullied more easily.
