Picture books are an important medium for children to know the world and a bridge for children to communicate with the world.Children as reading picture books "insiders",is the main body of reading picture books,in the choice of picture books,respect for children to read picture books interest and need,listen to children’s inner voice is necessary.As the saying goes,"A thousand readers make a thousand Hamlets." In the face of the same work,everyone has different interpretation,appreciation and views.Children,as individuals with subjective initiative,will also have their own understanding and feelings when reading picture books.In the face of the market,the bookshelf full of beautiful things in eyes of picture books,how will children evaluate?How to choose?Why?What are the differences between children of different ages and genders?It’s worth exploring.This study in small,medium and large a total of 120 kindergarten as the research object,adopts qualitative research methods,through on-site interviews,participatory observation,paintings analysis and literature review to collect data,using the grounded theory analysis data,focusing on the child’s favorite picture books,types,characteristics and reasons,finally from the picture book creators,parents,teachers and kindergarten level are proposed.First,analyzing the types of children’s favorite picture book is based on young children’s answer,put all the picture book according to the content classification,divided into habits,interpersonal,moral character,science encyclopedia,imagine fantasy and interactive game six categories,on this basis to explore the different age and different gender children’s favorite picture book.Secondly,the characteristics of children’s favorite picture books are analyzed,mainly from the theme,plot,role image three aspects to explore the characteristics of children of different ages,different genders and the development characteristics presented with the development of age.Through the study,it is found that children in small classes like picture books with themes close to life experience and strong interest.The plot of the most like simple repeated picture books;Character image on the most like simple modeling,image less picture books.Middle class children most like the theme to imagine fantasy,absurd and bizarre plot picture books;Characters like picture books with distinctive personality characteristics.Big class children like the theme of diversified rich,twists and turns,knowledge exploration,strong knowledge of picture books.Boys are most attracted to characters whose appearance is large and whose character is courageous and upright.Girls like the appearance of the most petite,good and beautiful character image.With the development of age,children of different ages like picture books from the details to the whole;The developmental characteristics of children’s favorite picture books of different genders are not obvious.Thirdly,the reasons for children’s favorite picture books were analyzed.The results showed that the main reason was the internal emotional experience of children reading picture books.Children’s own experience and interests;The plot of a picture book;Picture book’s role image and picture book’s form these five aspects.Finally,from the four levels of picture book creators,kindergartens,teachers and parents,suggestions for the creation and selection of children’s favorite picture books are put forward,in order to improve children’s interest in reading.In the process of writing the paper,I have been thinking deeply about this research,and found that the selection of research samples is relatively thin,and the classification of crossover picture books still needs to be discussed in the analysis of data.These deficiencies also provide space for the researchers to further study.
