Clues as a kind of design principle,is finding wider and wider application in the traditional teaching video, research has shown that contain clues suggest traditional teaching video on learners’ learning effect and cognitive load has a certain influence, but not unanimous conclusion, this may not only affected by the types of clues, but also by teaching video, teaching material, students’ prior knowledge level and other factors influence each other. With VR+education increasingly brought to the attention of the countries, panoramic video as a new teaching situation, the characteristic such as its high immersion, place illusion will give learners immersive experience, can effectively compensate for the lack of real teaching situation, the traditional teaching video loneliness,as a result of a lack of focus on learning atmosphere, etc.Based on the above analysis, this paper will discuss the influence of embedding clues and learners’ previous knowledge level on the learning effect in panoramic video. This research adopts literature review,quasi-experimental research and investigation research.Firstly, the relevant research at home and abroad was reviewed through literature, and the application status of VR panoramic video in education was investigated. Then according to the relevant research design of teaching content and materials as well as the test questions and questionnaires used in the experiment. Then, based on the theory of constructivism, multimedia cognitive learning theory and cognitive load theory, this paper explores the influence of embedded cue cue in panoramic video and learners’ previous knowledge level on learners’ learning effect, psychological feeling and cognitive load.In this quasi-experimental study, students from Class 1,Grade 6 of a primary school in Wuhan were selected as subjects, and the experiment adopted a two-factor mixed design of 2 panoramic video types(with and without prompts)x2 prior knowledge levels(high prior knowledge level and low prior knowledge level). The results showed that:(1)When learners watch the panoramic video with embedded clues, they pay more attention, and answer questions and click interaction times significantly increase compared with the panoramic video with no clues;(2)Embedding clues under panoramic video significantly improves the overall-learning.effect of learners, which can not only promote the learning performance of learners with high prior knowledge level, but also improve the learning performance of learners with low prior knowledge level;(3)The level of the subjects’prior knowledge affected their learning effect. The higher the level of the subjects’ prior knowledge, the higher the scores in the subsequent tests;(4)The previous knowledge level of the subjects affected their cognitive load, and the higher the previous knowledge level, the lower the cognitive load. This paper explores the influence of embedded cueing and previous knowledge level on learners in panoramic video. The experiment proves that the panoramic video with embedded prompts can promote both high and low levels of previous knowledge, aiming to enrich the application of panoramic video in education and provide some reference for education researchers.
