Chang Daozhi(1897-1975),a native of Jiangning,Jiangsu,was a well-known scholar in the field of Chinese pedagogy in the 20 th century.With his abundant academic contributions,he influenced the construction of Chinese pedagogy.On the basis of comparative education,Chang Daozhi’s educational thought has extensively covered many aspects such as education administration,social education,and normal education.This study focuses on the important part : thought of educational administration.And presents his academic,professional and rational educational thought of administration systematically,providing reference for realistic educational administration.This research is based on Chang Daozhi’s representative book "Revised of Educational Administration Outline","the Theory of Educational System Improvement ","Education Administration" and related articles,using literature research methods and historical research methods,and pay full attention to study the educational administration aspects.The study on Chang Daozhi’s thought of educational administration mainly includes the following aspects:The first chapter explores and clarifies the formation process of Chang Daozhi’s educational administration thought.First,it expounds the influence of educational thoughts on Chang Daozhi’s educational administration thoughts,and analyzes the relevance of populist and nationalist thoughts with Chang Daozhi’s educational administration thoughts.The second part takes Chang Daozhi’s educational administration practice as the main line,analyzes related works and articles,and summarizes the formation process and characteristics of Chang Daozhi’s educational administration thought.The second chapter presents Chang Daozhi’s educational administration thought system,and puts forward the educational administration thought with academicization,specialization and rationalization as the core.The academicization of educational administration originated from the independent thinking of educational administration.The establishment of an educational administration system centered on the three departments of deliberation,execution,and supervision,fully demonstrates the characteristics of academicization;the professionalization of educational administration is an extension of the idea of educational specialization,and requires to limit the professional qualifications of educational administrators and improve the educational administrative personnel system;the rationalization of educational administration aims to propose solutions to many disadvantages in educational administration in a rational way,and put forward specific principles and methods for rationalization of educational system,funding,and legislation.The third chapter combines the reality of educational administration,expounds some thoughts triggered by Chang Daozhi’s theory.Chang Daozhi’s thought of educational administration enlighten us that education administration and academic development must promote each other to build an academic ecology;improve personnel management mechanisms to promote the professionalization of education administration continuously;continue to deepen the reform of the education supervision system in the new era.At the same time,we should also learn from the ideas provided by Chang Daozhi,take problem-solving as the orientation of educational administration research,conduct rational localized research on foreign experience,and ensure the objectivity of the study.
