A Study On The Application Of Defense Blocking And Disconnection In The Top Eight NCAA 2018-2019

As the most widely used offensive tool in the world of basketball today,the blocking game is a powerful tool to create scoring opportunities.In the modern basketball game,position offense occupies a large proportion,each team will use the blocking cooperation as an offensive breakthrough to design tactics,in order to contain the opponent’s scoring,to crack the opponent’s offensive cooperation,defending the opponent’s blocking cooperation,so as to minimize the opponent’s offensive power.At the same time,the study of the opponent’s defensive blocking can also greatly stimulate the improvement of their own offensive end,providing more effective offensive options to make the game more efficient.In modern basketball,the rhythm of the game,the use of time and space,and the requirements for individual players are constantly changing and developing,and the use of defensive blocking has become more diversified.This paper uses literature review method,video observation method,expert interview method,mathematical and statistical method and logical analysis method to conduct an in-depth study on the form,number,effect,area,time and player position of defensive blocking cooperation in the 2018-2019 NCAA Elite Eight season,in an attempt to explore the new characteristics and experiences of defensive blocking in the world basketball.As the most widely used following conclusions were drawn.(1)This season,the NCAA Elite Eight used squeeze through,through,around,switch defense,delayed post-back coordination and pinch coordination in defensive blocking matchups.(2)Among the number of defensive blocking matchups used,switch defense and delayed post return matchups occurred more frequently,and through and around defensive forms were used the least.(3)In terms of the effectiveness of defensive blocking,squeeze through,return after delay and switch defense had the highest success rate,bypass and through defense had a lower success rate,and pinch defense had the lowest success rate.(4)Defensive blocking occurs mainly in the middle-high and radiating side-high areas outside the three-point line,with the most frequent outside the three-point line in the middle.(5)The time of defensive blocking cooperation is mainly concentrated between20-11 seconds,that is,the key offensive phase.(6)The defensive blocking cooperation is mainly based on the coordinated cooperation defense between the inside and the outside.
