The Influence Of Father’s Parenting Investment On The Self-Esteem Of Middle School Students

In most families in today’s society,mothers usually play a major role in their children’s learning and life,while the role of fathers is often missing.It is precisely because of the insufficient investment of fathers in the upbringing of children that various problems may arise in the growth of children.This lack of father’s upbringing investment is particularly prominent in the development of children’s personality.Without the love of their fathers,children are more likely to develop inferiority complex.Some of them are too precocious,while others are a desire to be recognized and paid attention to.As an important part of the personality structure,the healthy development of self-esteem is bound to be affected by this incomplete family upbringing.The junior high school stage is an important transition period for the development of personality and self-esteem,and the learning and growth of young people is already an issue of great concern to society and schools.Therefore,on the basis of exploring the influence of father’s parenting investment on self-esteem,this study introduces the two factors of learning emotion and personal goal,namely learning intoxication and personal goal orientation,and analyzes many factors that affect the development of self-esteem in the learning situation.Provide effective advice on the healthy development of student self-esteem.The study adopts a test method,based on the establishment of a theoretical model,and analyzes the data collected by four standardized measurement tools,revealing the influence of father’s parenting investment on self-esteem and the mediating effect of two factors.The survey adopted a cluster sampling method.Questionnaires were issued to junior high school students in 3 junior middle schools in L province A city.A total of 670 valid questionnaires were collected.The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS21.0 and M-plus7.4 software.The results found that fathers’ parenting investment had a positive predictive effect on junior high school students’ self-esteem.The more father’s parenting investment,the higher the level of self-esteem of junior high school students.After adding the two mediating variables of learning intoxication and personal goal orientation,the mediating role of the two in the influence of father’s parenting investment on self-esteem has been verified.The parenting investment of middle school students’ fathers can not only directly affect the self-esteem level of the students,but also indirectly affect the self-esteem level through two factors,learning intoxication and personal goal orientation.Therefore,this study draws the following conclusions:(1)Father’s parenting investment has a positive predictive effect on the self-esteem of middle school students.(2)Through the multiple mediating effects of learning intoxication,personal goal orientation and the chain relationship between the two,fathers’ parenting investment has an indirect and positive predictive effect on the self-esteem of middle school students.
