The educational dilemma that children’s play is marginalized stems from the lack of theoretical knowledge of the play.The key to deepening the understanding of the game is to clear out the myths about the nature of play.The multi-perspective researches of the philosophy of play help to understand the essence of the play.The existing researches on play or game in our country is quite abundant,but the researches on applying the philosophy of play to children’s play or games are few.Therefore,based on the main viewpoints of Western philosophy of play,this study interprets and analyzes the important ideas contained in theory from multiple perspectives.This paper mainly solves the following questions: the connotation of game concept in aesthetic situation,the reason of game as human instinct activity,common elements of game and culture,the characteristics of game as ontology,and how players are required to participate in it.The ultimate goal of this study is to understand the significance of children’s play,correctly deal with the problems about organizing children’s games and finally change the situation where the game is marginalized.This study uses the method of historical research to sort out the original works and documents,and uses the method of philosophical hermeneutics to understand and interpret the theory.First of all,the review of the literature includes two aspects.From Chinese references,this study investigates the related books about the philosophy of play,the researches on the evaluation about these theories and the related researches about children’s games.From foreign references,this study focuses on the nature of game and the philosophy of play.The carding of the theory also makes this research gradually clear the research ideas that the academic circles follow on the philosophy of play.Because these game theories are representative in their respective fields and the appropriateness of understanding the children’s game theory,this paper determines to choose the above representatives as the main theories to study in the article.This study discusses Kant、Schiller、Froebel、Johan Huizinga、Gadamer’s game theory,and summarizes the conclusions of this paper with different themes : "game and art" "the peculiarities of children’s play " "game and human instinct","game and morality","game and culture","game from the perspective of ontology".This study finds that both games and art are highly free activities without external driving force,representing a subjectively unforced state of pleasure,creating a peaceful state of mind;play is the innate instinct of human nature and realize the perfection of human nature.The evolution from play to complex cultural phenomena is inseparable from their common essential elements: aesthetics,pursuit of honor,perceptual wisdom,and spirit of contract;the spirit of play is also reflected in peaceful,non-self-centered interactions,so it is beneficial to the improvement of moral realm;understanding the play from the perspective of hermeneutics,the play is recognized as the movement of the ontological cycle.The player is not the subject of the game,but is voluntarily absorbed by the game and drives himself in the game.
