Psychological counseling,as one of the important ways to strengthen,promote and innovate ideological and political education,has been paid attention to by the CPC Central Committee,and has appeared in the reports of important conference of the Party many times.In 2015,General Secretary Xi pointed out in the National Conference on Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities: "We must unremittingly promote the harmony and stability of colleges and universities,cultivate a rational and peaceful healthy mentality,strengthen humanistic care and psychological counseling,and build colleges and universities into a model place for stability and unity.In the report of the 18 th and 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it is emphasized to strengthen and improve ideological and political education,pay attention to humanistic care and psychological counseling,and cultivate self-esteem,self-confidence,peaceful,rational and positive social mentality.The important meeting reiterated the concept of psychological counseling for many times,which pointed out a clear direction for improvement of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.When General Secretary Xi visited Tsinghua University,he said: " Contemporary Chinese youth are a generation that walks with the new era and advances together.They are born in prosperity and shoulder heavy responsibilities.As an important resource to promote social development and progress,college students’ healthy and all-round development has been paid close attention to by the whole society.Nowadays,the world is undergoing unprecedented changes in the past century,with different ideological and cultural communicates and exchanges,and various social ideological trends.The ideological and political education in colleges and universities is also facing the dual influence of the external environment of society and the internal psychological changes of students.The mental health problems of college students are becoming increasingly obvious,and more and more negative news is caused by psychological problems.All walks of life have attached great importance to this issue.In view of the new situation and new problems,how to keep pace with the times,reform and innovate the content,methods and paths of ideological and political education in colleges and universities is an important task of ideological and political education at present.Based on this,how to effectively apply psychological counseling methods in ideological and political education and improve the effectiveness of psychological counseling application is also the focus of the task.Therefore,it is also the key of this paper to systematically understand and grasp the related concepts and theories of psychological counseling in ideological and political education in colleges and how to effectively apply psychological counseling in ideological and political education and improve its application effectiveness.The author tries to comb the related concepts and theories of psychological counseling in detail,and then deeply analyze the present situation of psychological counseling in the application process of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,and then puts forward some countermeasures to enhance the effectiveness of psychological counseling application,so as to promote the wide application of psychological counseling methods in ideological and political education in colleges and universities.The full text is divided into three parts except the introduction.Part I: Starting from the clarification of the concept of psychological counseling,the author differentiates and analyzes the similar concepts,thus paving the way for the accurate positioning of psychological counseling.Summarize the characteristics of psychological counseling and explain the principles and functions of psychological counseling.Part II: Go deep into the reality of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,reveal the problems and causes of psychological counseling,and find out the crux.Part Ⅲ : In view of the existing problems in the application of psychological counseling,put forward corresponding countermeasures.
